I get a letter from my bank today.

Yesterday they withdrew cash from my savings to make up for the lack in my checking.

Apparently it was overdrawn by 40 dollars... I don't understand... but there's one of 2 things going on here.

1. the chic at the drive through window put my paycheck into my savings, which isn't likely as I had exactly what I was supposed to in there according to this receipt.

2. some ass fuck got a hold of my bank account.

Here, I have to get my house ready to be lived in within TWO WEEKS. I need to move, I need to spend money on new PVC, sanding my floors and getting shit done.

And NOW my fucking bank account gets overdrawn?

Why the fuck is it always something?

Well James.. First you need to go to the Bank and Get a Statement on your Account to see how and when everything was processed .

or check your bank acct online if you can.

They talked about online services, but they never put anything in place. So I had to wait until today, which I'll be stopping by today.

On top of it all last night my chest was killing me. After this news happened I couldn't hardly breathe. Then my muscle in my back starts spasming. It's the same one I pulled two years ago March.

I really, really need a damn vacation.

My bank called me last week and told me that I was one of many who had their accounts compromised. It was my Visa check card to be more persise. They said that they cancelled that card and were sending out a new one right away. They also said to check for any $10 charges from MTA (mass transit authority) because that's what was showing up on these accounts. Well I was at work when I got this call so while I was on the phone with her, I looked at my account online. It showed one $10 charge to MTA and one refund from MTA. They fixed the problem within 4 hours.
I couldn't live without online access to my bank account. I can transfer money from my one checking account to the other in seconds. I can check and make sure that all my charges are going through and if there is anything that isn't right with the account.
All my bills and all my accounts are handled online now. I haven't written a paper check in over a year.

I only use checks for rent, or for those days right before payday when I know there is no money...lol. And I also couldn't live without online access to my bank account. If I didn't have online access, I'd have to keep track of EVERY single charge I made on my card or check I wrote and balance my checkbook like crazy, which is hard because Matt and I are on the same account and I could never depend on him to keep track like that lol. So online access has saved us from overspending many times.

Balancing a checkbook? what is that? I just know mine is within 10 dollars on the plus side of what I say I have in my register.

Anyway, I stopped by and talked about it. I was in Tuesday morning of March 13th to deposit my 852 dollar federal refund check.

Amy accidently put it into my brothers account.

She never asks me for my acct. number so she just types in our last name and it pops up as such;

O...., James; Acct xxxx
O...., Jeremy; Acct xxxx

Well, she scrolled too far and suddenly my brother had an extra 802 dollars in his checking account.

She refunded all of the overdraft fees which totalled about 90 bucks and apologized profusely.

Crisis averted.

Had I been 10 minutes later in getting to the bank, the check I wrote to Pizza Hut Monday would have been returned and Pizza Hut would have been like WTF! Then I would have gotten a 20 dollar returned check fee from them.

*sighs in relief*

Online banking is the best. Banks do screw up a lot, they don't like to say they do but they do. Just before Christmas I get a bounced check notice online. So I am like what hell, I know that can't be right. I check my account and Blizzard (World of Warcraft) took a payment out twice. I was able to get it strighten out.

Then when I opened my checking account, (before the days of online banking) the lady who usally does it was gone on maternity leave. So about 2 weeks later I start getting overdrawn letters in the mail. I go down to the bank and ask the teller what my balance is, and all of the money is still there. Come to find out the lady who opened my account didn't do it right, money only could be put in, but not taking out. When this happened I didn't have overdraft protection so not only was I owing the bank $25.00 for every check I was also owing the stores $25.00. 7 checks had bounced in this time period which equaled out to be $350.00 in fees. The bank had to waive the fees I owed them, then they had to write apoligy letters to all of the stores and have them waive the fees I owed the stores. In the end it everything worked out fine and all the stores waived the fees and took my name off their bounced check list.
