That is one good looking sSilverback. This would be an interesting fight because both of these creatures have weapons - the tiger has teeth & claws - the silverback has brains & strength.

I'm going with the silverback but I suspect he will be pretty badly wounded.

I doubt that anyone can actually answer this question, though, as they live in entirely different locales, maybe it should be a silverback & a lion.

I think I've seen this actual fight on discover channel or something close. I think the gorilla died, not immediately, but as a result of his injury's.

The gorilla would go into a barbarian rage, causing his strength and constitution scores to go up by two, increasing his damage bonus, as well as hit points.

In other words, he would smash the tiger into a fine pulp.

Amateurs!! Do none of you religiously watch the Discovery Channel or Animal Planet? J/K!
Seriously though. The tiger would win. Sure, the gorilla would put up a decent fight IF CORNERED! Think about it. The gorilla is an intelligent animal. It has a mostly herbivorous diet. The only times gorillas really fight is during mating season, or if a rival male comes looking to score a couple pieces of she-gorilla ass from another male's harem. Then it is mostly teeth baring and chest pounding. Researchers in the field know that if a gorilla charges that if you look away from it (not make eye contact which it perceives as a threat) it will change direction at the last second. The charge is meant to scare the opposition away. Textbook avoidance.
A tiger on the other hand. It is a carnivore that is driven by instinct. That instinct is to kill. It is very territorial and will defend it's domain to the death. No chest pounding here. When a tiger charges it's gonna fuck something up. Textbook aggressive.
Aggressive beats avoidance any day of the week... no matter how many hit points the gorilla has!

i imagine the tiger would use camouflage to discuss itself before it pounces, so it would have the first blow an element of surprise, for that reason, tiger, tho a well aimed flailing gorilla fist would probably knock it out

I'm not sure I agree with all of what you said, but atleast some of it... In regards to "agressive beats avoidance any day of the week," thats hog wash. Agression leads to mistakes, mistakes lead to death/injury/loss. Have you ever been in/seen a fight where there is an agressive person and a calm person who knows what they are doing. You sit back and wait for the other person to pounce and react to them and their mistakes. Sure the agressor can get lucky and score a knock out punch, but 9/10 if who/what they are fighting will counter better.
