Alright, I'm not really seeing this girl right now, but I still want to get her something cool for Christmas. She just read "Uncle Toms Cabin" and pretty much fell in love with it, so I was thinking about getting maby a special edition or special print or leather back copy (something fancy) of it. Now the only problem is I don't read, so I'm asking you people who do... Do people really like having copies of books they read? I've heard alot of people say they like the special prints, but I just don't read, so I don't get that. Also, is this as thoughtful of a gift as I think it is? Looking for help, very confused, thanks.

I can't speak for anyone but myself...but i would love something like that...i happen to love reading in general...but a special copy of a book i love would be an awsome present...and i think it speaks a lot...that you came up with an idea like this...it is very thoughtful

personally...I only want a copy of a book if I haven't read it yet, or if it is my ALLTIME favorite book ever. I NEVER EVER reread books. But a lot of people do. I just can't stand reading the same thing twice, unless it has been at least 10 years since the last time I read it.

Personally as a reader of a lot of books I enjoy having a special edition to thumb through and show off but also a normal copy for normal reading that I don't have to worry about getting bent up and ruined. I can't speak for the girl you're going to buy it for because I don't know her but it sounds like a quality idea to me.:)

I just am one of those people that remembers everything I read. I don't have a photographic memory when it comes to pictures as much, but with words, I can remember everything. Like if you read me a sentence out of a book I have read before, I could probably name what book it was out of.
