I don't know about the worst song, but certainly the most overplayed song (at least in Europe) is Shakira's Hips Don't Lie. I actually liked it the first 5 or 6 times I heard it. It was the eleventy billionty thousandth time I heard it that turned me off of it.

I need to find a way to share some of my music. My old manager is a DJ and used to spin all the time, and a friend of mine used to send me a lot of cds with some insane beats. Some of Fergie's songs loud just make me want to jam as best as a cracker white boy can.

what kind of music do you spin? I have a few crates full of vinyl around collecting dust, I don't really spin anymore...but when I did I was into dnb and breaks. More so the dirty nu skool breaks. but I love anything with a broken beat. I have the technic mark 5 1210's and blue ortofons. The mixer is th eonly thing thats shitty, I waas saving up to buy an allen & heath, but the plan got foiled so I still have my cheap "in the mean time" mixer

I enjoy club from time to time, ie. when I am clubbing.

I'm not a fan of rap music (there is one notable exception, being "Kryptonite (I'm On It)" by Big Boi and the Purple Ribbon All Stars--and only because there are good memories to that song).

I enjoy folk, synth, pop, twee... generally the indie varieties.

One song that pissed me off this year, though: Faster Kill Pussycat, but not because it's a bad song. Every time I hear it on the radio it's slightly slower than the album version for some reason, and they always say "That was Faster Kill Pussycat by Britney Murphy!" And it is NOT by Britney Murphy. She just sings on it. It's by Paul fuckin' Oakenfold. That pisses me off.

Otherwise, I wouldn't really say there's a "worst song of 2006".

I don't spin myself. Don't have the cash for the equipment, but every now and then I still talk to the guy who does (he was my assistant manager at east of chicago pizza).

oh ok. And Paul Oakenfold...yuck. He was good maybe 10 years ago but I can't stand any of his new stuff...I think I have just grown out of the trance genre all together. His new stuff isn't really trance, but it's still yucky i think. I've actually met him before and his "I think I'm Godlike" aura really pissed me off. He came to a party I went to in 99 at the astrodome and was COMPLETELY fucked up out of his mind, he couldn't even beatmatch. : /
