we are thinking of going there for the honeymoon. My boyfriend really wants to go see where bob marley lived, and I want to get a nice tan. Thoughts and reviews on where to stay/where to go there would be nice! thanks guys :)

i was there! loved it! highly recommend it for honeymoons!! A++++

I stayed at Half Moon Resort in Rose Hall- AMAZING... i was actually there for a wedding, so they took care of the whole thing and it was gorgeous!!

They have a couples only Sandals Resort in Montego Bay and they have special honeymoon accomodations... FYI

yeah I've been looking at Sandals. Sooo...I know ganja is illegal there, but I hear that they offer it to you as soon as you step off the plane...fact or fiction? I don't smoke now but smoking jamaican bud has always been a dream of mine lol.

I went to Jamaica when i was barely 16. Almost two years ago. Montego Bay was great. If you like dolphins, go to Dolphin Cove. You can pay to swim w/ the dolphins, or pay a lower fee to sit on the dock and pet 'em. Or just watch from afar. It was cool. And Jamaican coffee is the best I have ever had.

I've been to Jamaica 2 times now. Alicia and I just had our honeymoon there the first week of August. We want to go back around Christmas time. Both times I went, I was in Ocho Rios, so I can't comment on the other areas. Absolutely georgous with perfect weather and beaches. We stayed at Sadals Grande Ocho Rios beach & villa resort. It is 2 resorts in one, the beach resort and the mountain resort. They are accross the street from each other with shuttle buses running between the two every 10 min or so. We stayed on the villa/mountain side of the resort. It has private pools for each of the rooms and lots of privacy. It's all inclusive so you don't need to pony up for the alcohol, food, activities, etc. When we first got there, we saw in the paperwork that Mary Jane is illegal but when we asked the bar tender, he rolled us up one quick. All of these resorts are private property and they will not bother you for smoking. Hell, there was a couple at the main pool sitting next to us smoking a doobie. I'll have to post some pics for you.

Hahahaha!

No...I'm scared of open water.

Bad for cruises.

I don't mind cruises...I went on the Disney cruise and had so much fun. I knew that I was in something big and that we weren't living in the titanic days. But when it does come to the ocean I'm a little sissy, I'll start crying before the water hits my knees. I was scared, but I still swimmed in jamaica b/c there weren't big waves. Except for when we took a little boat in the ocean to go snorkling (something i don't think i'll do again), it was just a little too intense.

the only way to overcome your fear is to get on a damn boat darkie. Trust me you should do it, you are SOOO missing out. I am pretty much all but heartbroken that my fiance will never go on a cruise with me because he has the same fear. I'm telling you I was afraid at first, but I got on the damn boat and I LOVED it. My 2 cruises are by FAR the best vacations I've ever been on.

And Tim, please post some pics of your trip! Ochos Rios sounds nice...what is it like, besides the resort, and what is it close to?

I've never been to jamaica. In fact, I've never been outside of the United States.

Still countin' the days until I visit Canada: Amercia's northern friend.

looking at these pictures I wanted to cry lol. Tim and I had a great time, everyone was nice...you didn't have to worry about anything or make any kind of decisions that would stress your day out. We would get up have breakfast, and start drinking by 10am until night. I can't explain it, we were just at ease with ourselves. It's pretty close to a lot of stuff, and there are tours that take you shopping (although they are short shopping trips). One of the places that you go to is margaritaville, we didn't get to try a margarita though, maybe next time:(. There's a lot of other things that you could do outside of the resort although it's for a price. And depending on what you want to do inside of the resort there are a couple things that also have a price too. ex: private massages, private dinners...
