Involving children in volunteering can build empathy. Have you tried family volunteering? What lessons did your children (or you) take away from those shared community efforts?

I haven't done volunteering work myself let alone taking kids for volunteer work. However, I do understand the importance of volunteering and how it can help people become more concerned about the society they live in. I always encourage my 8 years old kid for volunteering.

Even if you haven’t volunteered yourself, you clearly value its importance. Encouraging your 8 year old to participate helps instill empathy and social responsibility early. I think even small acts of volunteering can shape awareness, compassion, and a sense of connection to the wider community.

I also haven’t done volunteering with kids myself, but I think it’s valuable for teaching responsibility, empathy, and social awareness. To get started, look for local schools, NGOs, or community centers that run programs for children. Even simple tasks, like helping with activities or reading, can make a meaningful impact.
