my wife dumped me after 30 years. seems like there is nothing odd about this happening anymore. where as years ago it would be pretty rare

Pretty insane. Sad that marriages just don't last anymore.
Like what does that say for the younger generation? My generation. Kinda seems like theres no hope xD

marriage is taken too lightly and has for years. Started in the late 60's with the I me, mine generation then. Before it was a black eye to get a divorce. Nobody should live a miserable life but as in my case it takes two to resolve issues and if one side has no interest making the effort then this is what it comes to.

tax relief?

Tax relief could factor into the divorce but at this point in their marriage, it would seem questionable, IMO. Unless Pegi is tried of being alone to rear the children, since Neil is on the road so much, I just can't understand why after such a long time being married, they would divorce. I can't see any chickie falling for the "Grandfather of Grunge" at 68 nor he for anyone other than Pegi who is 61. His career is winding down and altho she has cut several CDs, I don't think (I could be wrong) that she has a career without him. He plays backup on several of her recorded songs and she has been a backup singer at many of his concerts. The Bridge School for the handicapped (their brainchild) is/was very lucrative; bringing in a lot of $ for the children. It's very puzzling to me.

I think there is something going on here that has little to do with a "I-don't-love-you-anymore" type divorce. It remains to be seen, tho.

Great post
I meant tax relief as a tongue in cheek reply to the generic reason to marry, rather than live common law

However I suspect he caught her drinking Coca-Cola

He hates big brand corporations[emoji3]

women love money. same as men. so he will not have any problem finding a chickie. I have been to strip clubs over the years and the dancers hang all over old men as long as they have the dough.

If he wasn't in love with her anymore then he should absolutely divorce her. Why waste the final years of his life with a woman that he doesn't love anymore when he might be able to find someone else who he loves and cares about who he can spend the rest of his time with?

Depends on how much money he has really! Seriously though, maybe one of them has had a "lightbulb moment" where they have thought "I don't want to waste the little time I have left with someone I don't love". They certainly shouldn't stay together out of obligation.
