Although a United States Senate bill that would narrow the gender pay gap was derailed in the US Congress this week, The WIP took full advantage of Tuesday's national Equal Pay Day. We launched our own "Gender Pay Gap" page which highlights articles that we have published over the years exploring the impact of unequal pay worldwide. Also this week, US television network CBS announced "The Late Show" with David Letterman will be taken over by Stephen Colbert next year causing The WIP to wonder, are these two issues related? Does the exclusion of women and minorities from late-night comedy shows - which are held in much higher esteem than their daytime counterparts - reinforce the stereotype that women and minorities are worth-less?

Shame all paying jobs reserved for men and 'light payment' jobs designed for women. Pakistan has female fighter pilots, why don't you??

There certainly seems something wrong with you. You are always grumbling and complaining about this and that. Suggest you go and see a shrink ( I guess she is not as much paid as men.. shameful gender discrimination)

If you have a point to make do otherwise just go swimming!!

Could be...but the fact remains that men and women here are doing different jobs for the most part.
I am not saying that all omen earn the same wage doing the same job...I am also sure there are sone men who do not make the same amount as women in other jobs as well...the point is men make more in general as they are doing different work for fairness you can only compare the same job and not lump salary averages for all jobs.

Nope. here this ' discrimination phenomena' is explained,,,

''Nearly all women in almost every line of work are paid less than a man including women who have attended universities and colleges, attained advanced degrees and acquired excellent job experience, according to recent research analyzed by the Association of American University Women ("AAUW"). And in some cases, the gender pay gap is larger at higher levels of education. Often times, women do not know they are paid less than their male counterparts. That's why the Paycheck Fairness Act 2014 needs to pass to close loopholes in existing laws and make it easier for all women to know and inquire about salary information without retaliation. The U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions will hold a full hearing on it on April 1, 2014.

Opponents of the gender pay gap cite many reasons why women may earn less than a man for the same position, including that many women take disproportionately lesser paying jobs in female dominated fields. That argument does not explain why most women in male dominated professions still earn less than a man for doing the same work, according to the Simple Truth About the Gender Pay Gap.''

There are no stats maz in your post showing women recieving less pay for doing the same job...not saying it doesn't happen..its not a widespread problem. .the stats I showed you/ that in general women and men are working different jobs.
I want you to show me some actual descrimination going on and who are the offending employers.
