Terrifying teen 'knockout' game assaults spreading

A sick so-called game known as "knockout" -- where teens randomly sucker-punch strangers with the goal of knocking them unconscious with a single blow -- is catching the attention of law enforcement throughout the nation.

"Knockout" can be fatal. In New Jersey, Ralph Santiago, 46, a homeless man, was walking alone in Hoboken on the night of September 10 when he was suddenly struck from behind, said Hoboken Detective Anthony Caruso.

The blow knocked out Santiago, who had a pre-existing brain injury. He suffered a seizure. The victim's body struck a nearby fence, with part of the wrought iron fence piercing his body and killing him, Caruso said.

Surveillance video in the area showed three teens running from the scene. Two weeks later, police arrested the juveniles and charged them in connection with the killing. Caruso said the attack was unprovoked.

I've heard of a game in the past where teens actually made themselves pass out by pushing on a particular part of there body. They only passed out for a few seconds but it was dangerous nonetheless. This actually seems a lot worse since they are doing it to random people and actually causing people to die. UGH what is the world coming to?

Has the world got so boring that kids want to practice what they do in video games in the real world? Who is to blame for the culture of violence that's these days teens and kids identify with so much? Hollywood? The 'knock-out' game can catch anyone, even someone who's able to defend himself unawares and depending on the force you strike the asphalt with, it's either you get hurt pretty badly or you break an arm, leg, fracture your skull and so on. The media should warn people about this and maybe then the teens having known there 'game' has been exposed will think twice before attempting to knock someone unconscious.

The knock-out game is actually spreading across the country, in part as a result of the media coverage that it has been getting. I have been appalled that quite a few of these teenagers have been sentenced to as little as 18 months even when the results of the "game" have been death to an innocent passerby.

Shocking, this is one up from happyslapping which is quite mild compared to this. I hope they lock away to idiots doing this for a while. I bet it will spread to the UK soon if it hasn't done so already. Just a matter of time before someone dies from a knockout

I've always hated media for the way it makes something bad spread like wildfire and now we have social media to make it that much worse. I knew this would take off with the lowly cowards of the world. Haven't heard of anything here yet, thankfully.

I really hope they come up with some tough punishments for anyone who takes part in this game so that Teens will think twice before doing something so stupid!

Recently a guy in Michigan shot a guy playing this game on him. Only wounded him (guy playing "knockout"). Good thing he didn't put another round into him when he was on the ground.

I know five ways to knock a man unconscious. Three of them are potentially lethal, all use less force than a knockout punch.
1. Neck jab
2. Ball kick-grab-elbow jab
3. Eye poke and nose hit
4. Kamikaze piss and knee kick
5. Fartality.

Careful the liberals may pop in and say you dont have a right to defend yourself...they are pretty adamant.
May even refer to the attackers as victims.

Several people have been killed and a number more badly hurt. Those caught playing the GAME should have the book thrown at them and not just a slap on the wrist.
