So in society it is kind of expected for the man to take charge and be the one in power and in control of their relationships, whether they be romantic relationships or strictly platonic. But the reality is that there are some short men out there lol. Being tall and strong, and able to protect and put food on the table is what is expected of men in our narrow minded society currently, but some women are taller than men, especially when they put heels on.

I know that a lot of shorter men get depressed because women won't date them and things like that, and because they don't feel comfortable dating a woman that is taller than them.

So, men, would you date a woman that was much taller than you. To the women, would you date a man that was much shorter than you? This should be interesting lol.

Actually, I'm not exactly sure what you think that "in today's society" it is expected for a man to "take charge"?

Perhaps prior to the 60's were women were kind of expected to be barefoot and pregant, but at least in the United States, I do think most women are capable of achieving a higher level of income than the average male if they want it bad enough and study.

As far as dating a woman taller than yourself, as Fonzie once said it Happy Days about dating a taller woman - "she's worth the climb".

I dated some women taller than me in my dating days. Never bothered me. I am 5'-11" my wife of 30 years is 5'-9". We are taller than average as a couple.

I am short myself (5'2"), so I've never been faced with the question of whether I would date someone shorter. My husband is actually short for a man. He's 5'8". But we are perfect together! I guess if I really liked someone, it wouldn't matter how tall or short they were.

I have dated a guy that was my height, but anything shorter no I wouldn't because I am short. My husband is 5'11 which is very tall for me being 5'4. I prefer taller men, but height shouldn't matter to us, but for me it does. I hope my boys end up taller then me.

I am 5' 11". In college, I dated a man that was 5' 7", and I thought it felt awkward at times. I think we both felt weird. Now, my husband and I are the same height. He might be half an inch taller than me when he stands up straight. I never wear heals so there is never a time that I am taller than him. If there would be a time, I think it would feel awkward. I like the man to be taller than the woman.

I'm a woman, I'm 5'4, I've only dated men taller than me, and my husband is taller than me. I wouldn't want to date someone shorter, I think it's weird and uncomfortable. I just like my guy taller so he can hold me.

I'm small...5'2". So everyone is taller than me. It's weird though because most of the men I've been with have been around 6 feet.

I am short. 5'6". The tallest I have dated was 5'10". It was kind of odd. I think a good height for me is 5'2".

I used to have a mutual understanding with a guy who is shorter than me before and I didn't mind except that I cannot wear high heels whenever we are together LOL :p But seriously, physical appearance don't really matter to some especially nowadays that we are more open-minded.

height would be the last thing I was concerned about, if we connected and the bond was there well...... it all still fits when horizontal so who cares :D

My wife has a lady friend who is crazy tall (like 6'3" or 6'4"). She refuses to date anyone ho isn't taller than her. As you can imagine that pretty greatly restricts her options when it comes to dating because there aren't a ton of 6'6" men walking around out there. Yet she still constantly complains about being single, that lady is a nut.

Fonzie is the man! lol. I feel emasculated if she is taller than me by 3 inches. 1 or 2 is fine.

I am the smallest member of my family so I get teased about my height a lot. I have no problem dating a man who is shorter than me. I just won't date a man who is really taller than me. I don't mind a little height just not to much.

I never dated anyone shorter than me. That would be weird. People that are really tall freak me out too. I don't know why because my dad is 6'3" and most of my uncles are over 6' My mom is 5'4" so my parents looked weird together:) Anyway, I'm 5'6" and my husband is just shy of 5'11".

Personally, I am attracted to men taller than I am. Just keeping it real. However, who's really to say when love hits you right? Your ideals could go away just like that when true love happens.
