if the bomber(s) do turn out to be white and not foreign extrmists then it will quickly be written off as the actions of a crazed group/indivdual and the public will be less fearsome of attending these kind of events in the future - the media wont be able to whip up a frenzy of finger pointing and fear becasue they would be pointing the finger at us, because the nutjobs live among us....

With the fear frenzy going on today, a domestic suspect means that we are even less safe than the fearmongers feared, so they will claim justification for even greater restrictions on liberty, to be done with even greater urgency. We can't be free until we are absolutely safe from all possible dangers, which won't happen until we know the movements and motives of everyone, including shopping habits and what they hide in their closets. Only when we have cameras in every room of every home, and police have pass keys to every door, and food is sold precooked in bite-size pieces (so no one will need knives) will we be truly safe. Once all dangers are completely eradicated, we can start thinking about freedom. Until then, it's only prudent that we have a complete lockdown.

The only reason to resist such safety measures is because you are hiding something. You don't have anything to hide, do you?

I don't think it was what we typically call a "terrorist group." The blasts were rather small, considering, and the devices rather unsophisticated. I think if this were what we typically think of as a terrorist organization the casualties would've been much higher, the blast much bigger, and the devastation even greater. I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be a white American man.
