Do you think there's a market for them? Imagine having a phone that you can leave at the house and check the voicemail when you get home!

I would imagine the dial would be replaced with buttons and maybe a display screen.

Well, maybe in the short term, because it'd be a little different, but it wouldn't be a long term thing.

Today it's even rarer to see basic home phones with the advent of fibre optic broadband etc, they're basically becoming obsolete.

all things come back after 25 years on the shelf, so in about 15 years the "old" rotary phones will make a come back and everyone will be stunned we used such archaic phones.

I think phones are already obsolete in most situations. I'm sure that offices will do away with them in a few years, as soon as they figure out how to network dozens or hundreds of cell phones.

How do you imagine hotels will handle it?

land lines are going by the wayside, so since most people can be reached via, cell, email, the need for any telephone worker may soon disappear and this is a technology just over a hundred years old....
