Some of us are taking necessay drugs to just maintain our health, Having this important information make keep us out of the emergency room.

Yep. When I started on Lipitor which is a statin the doc said no more grapefruit. As i understand it, the fruit renders a lot of medicines useless for their intended purpose. At $5 a pill, I just gave up the grapefruit and eat more sausage.

My problem with prescription meds is we've become a society of doped up bafoons... Because media tells us, oh do you have anxiety take this. Do you get down sometimes? take this... Are you happy too much? take this... For every societal woe there's a cure all....

Oh no doubt... But if American's didn't buy into big business medicine this shit wouldn't have to be posted.

That's certainly an issue with 'feel good' mentality....but medications extend to physical problems also and it becomes critical to understand the contradictions in certain cases.

No. But I did have bacon yesterday! I take so damn many pills right now I have to use the third row in the pill case. Between the nurse i live with and the docs they are my appetizers and my after dinner cordials. Since the docs seem happy I just try to be good and take my medicine. This may change when they do the next bone marrow tap in February or the heart doc who I see in January. I am a little worried I may overload on blood now that I get to go 90 days without them stealing any.:24:

I do save the partial phone book of warnings they send along with my 90 day bag of meds. They are good for firing up the boiler the next morning. I also seriously read all about any new meds they want me to take. Shot down a few because of contraindications with the ones I already take. You can't trust anybody but yourself to be on top of things. I carry a wallet folder to list them all so hopefully somebody won't give me the wrong thing.
