I've got to ask. Why does a guy halfway around the world whom I guessing has never lived in the United States use an "Obama avatar"?

As an afterthought, do you, like me, find that folks "halfway around the world" are often better informed politically than most Americans?

It blows my mind that people here are stupid enough to vote for Romney - KNOWING that he would have returned the nation to the very same Bush policies that put us into recession. Teatards and conservobots have justly earned those titles.

Not really. I'd haphazard a guess and say that Americans fall in line with the worlds average of idiots.

I do however find it interesting how people, who have never lived in another country, knows everything about that country they haven't lived in from what they read.

KD strikes me as a hell of a lot more informed than the OP. There are probably millions of Europeans and others who understand our politics better than most of our own citizens. Most asshats here cannot even name their congressman and senators.

I travel quite a lot to the US.. I have yet to come across a big City that has any Canadian TV stations on the dial in hotel rooms but I think Buffalo and might be the exception..

Yet any place in Canada you can get, depending on the hotel, anywhere from 35 to 110 channel, of US news, information and all the same stuff you would see at your home except that we add our 4 little Canadian TV stations and sometimes BBC New World..

As well seeing all my main contacts come up from the US and that 50% of my business communications is with people there that I may inform myself on the economy and situation that will affect me soon.

You don't have to live in a country, when you depend on it for a living, to follow many aspects of what drives the economy..

Now that 50% of my focus has changed to Asia, you bet I follow what's happening there.. That's why I used to peeve off our Singapore friend ( Kelvin ) as I knew as much of what was happening in his country as he did. I know the rules, tax laws and government situation at all times.. Part of my business to know.
