I do believe the Israeli's will launch a major campaign to clear out the rocket launchers. No final tally on how many dead yet but Hamas has invited a major retaliation this time. It will get wild over the next few days. Will be interesting to see how the muslim in Washington responds to this.

What I find amusing is the fact that people tend to forget how terrorism was used in the creation of the modern day Israel after WW2.

What I find interesting is that many Americans have forgotten that our own Independence was won using terrorist tactics on the British.......and I'm not stating that in an attempt to condone terrorism, but it's been a reality that many rationalize away when it's successful for their cause/status.

John will tell you, one comment I've in the past is "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter".

I had an uncle in MI back in the late 40's and 50's who later had a career at the Justice Department. I can remember him telling me stories about some of the crap that went on with the formation of modern day Israel in the middle east. After doing some research on the subject as I grew older, I found that my uncles version didn't seem so far from the truth even though I wasn't sure (at the time) to believe him or not.

Maybe it is too bad they are not using nukes. both sides deserve to destroy each other. only way to make peace it seems is to make the area uninhabitable.

We await Obama's announcement .
Who am I kidding he didnt speak during the Iranian fighter jets going after our unarmed plane in international waters.
Nor did he speak timely about the terrorists attack in Libya...while letting us believe it was over a video and Hillary apologized for it .

If the Egyptian leader was not there Israel would be dropping a world of hurt on them right now. They have their Abrams tanks massed at all borders right now and have called up another 16,000 reserves for immediate deployment.

How do the Israelis "deserve" to die when they are living in their own nation which by the way was almost uninhabitable when they were granted it by the Balfour_Declaration https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balfour_Declaration . That granted the Jews a very small part of the former Ottoman Turkish Empire as a homeland?

IMO they should should the latest occurrence to just rid them...its only 140 square mile...less than a third the size of Los Angelos Ca.
Do it now...to wait with lose world approval.
Why is the Egyptian leader there anyway?
I say just air strike the place till it looks like swiss cheese....problem solved once and for all.

Little reading for you John,

Hamas (Arabic: حماس‎ Ḥamās, "enthusiasm", an acronym of حركة المقاومة الاسلامية Ḥarakat al-Muqāwamah al-ʾIslāmiyyah, "Islamic Resistance Movement") is the Palestinian Sunni Islamic or Islamist[5] political party[neutrality is disputed] that governs the Gaza Strip. Hamas also has a military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.[6] Since June 2007 Hamas has governed the Gaza portion of the Palestinian Territories, after it won a majority of seats in the Palestinian Parliament in the January 2006 Palestinian parliamentary elections[7] and then defeated the Fatah political organization in a series of violent clashes. Israel, the United States[8], the European Union,[9][10], Canada and Japan classify Hamas as a terrorist organization[11][12], while Arab nations, Russia[13], Turkey,[14] and most other countries do not.[citation needed]

Based on the principles of Islamic fundamentalism gaining momentum throughout the Arab world in the 1980s, Hamas was founded in 1987 (during the First Intifada) as an offshoot of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood.[15][16] Co-founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin stated in 1987, and the Hamas Charter affirmed in 1988, that Hamas was founded to liberate Palestine from Israeli occupation and to establish an Islamic state in the area that is now Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.[17][18] However, in July 2009, Khaled Meshal, Hamas's Damascus-based political bureau chief, said the organization was willing to cooperate with "a resolution to the Arab-Israeli conflict which included a Palestinian state based on 1967 borders," provided that Palestinian refugees hold the right to return to Israel and that East Jerusalem be the new nation's capital.[19][20] Hamas rejects Israel's right to exist and desires to form an Islamic state that spans Gaza, the West Bank and Israel.[21]
