I don't like Joe's ex-wife Cheri. We don't have a lot in common. She loves to shop, I would rather go to the dentist. She is a neat freak, I'm a bet of a slob. She is very much into the newest of everything, I couldn't care less about that stuff. But we both do love Evan and I don't care if Joe talks with her on the phone a lot but I DO mind when she begs for money, especially right now after we have tenants who haven't paid, just paid way too much to go to Ireland and been hit by expenses for the sewer twice, etc and Joe had 3 days w/o pay.
She called yesterday saying she needed $1000 for Evan to go skiing. Well she talks very loudly and I could hear everything she said with no trouble. I was suspicious. A I don't think Evan need a ski pass, let him pay as he goes and B I don't think she would be calling for that. Well turned out he didn't need it, she needed it.
Mind you she makes over $80,000, plus gets $550 child support each month from us which should stop in January as Evan turns 18, but we will pay HIM the $ thru June as he will be still going to school thru then and I bet he will be giving it to Cheri. Also, turns out Cheri has borrowed money from Evan-about $1000, he is working and he is thinking about getting a 2nd job over X-mas break-all while attending school, with some college courses.
Mind you Cheri works 30 hours a week to make this $80,000, not counting child support and SHE gets to claim Evan on her taxes, we never have. Plus she has a Lexus that's 5 years old she leases, she has a house she the govmt is close to foreclosing on, She owes both Federal and State taxes for when she didn't pay correctly on them and they are taking a significant amount of money out of her paycheck on. She regularly borrows from Money Tree and outfits like that! She had declared bankruptcy twice in her life.
Yet she has the big screen TVS, the latest IPODS, laptops, Big fridges, stoves, you get the picture. She is a fashion plate.
I have no sympathy for the woman. She complains that her mother is a bitch-as she is wealthy and won't help her only daughter out. I know her mother, and she is right, she is sort of a bitch but helping Cheri out is not helping her to change....if she won't have to start taking some responsibility for her actions. I told Joe straight out I do NOT want to loan Cheri any money. She's not good for it. Let her ask her mom. If Evan NEEDS something legitamately, okay, we will talk it over. And it might be wise to help Evan get out of Cheri's house asap or he will be forever helping her out financially and that will hurt him.
