I have been waiting for a important letter for about a week now. Since I have not gotten it yet I called the company and was told it was sent out a week ago so I asked my wife if she has seen the letter. She said no but decided she would look on her desk for it in case one of the kids just put it on her desk. After about an hour she comes to me and says she has good news and bad news. She said she found one one of my payroll checks not deposited from May of this year. My response was ok what is the good news. She thought finding the check was good news. I asked how do you see leaving a check lay around since May be good news? Still love her though. Now I need to figure out what toy I can buy with the money we obviously didn't need. :)

Actually the bad news would be that you probably can't cash that check anymore. LOL I think it's like 90 days before it's no longer valid, but look at the check and it should have "Void after _______ days" on it.

Heck,go deposit it. it will go through. I used to save up checks for months till payroll would threaten to void them if I didn't cash them. It helps to keep their heads in the right space about just how important their job is to you. It was a safe way to carry a couple grand without worrying about it getting stolen.

I hope to one day be lucky enough to not NEED to cash or deposit my paycheck right away. I had a supervisor years ago that was the most negative person I had ever met, but she would go on vacation for a month and not bother to pick up her paychecks. Being able to live w/o your paycheck for an entire month makes you pretty damn lucky in my eyes.

Then again, that's coming from a girl w/ a little over $30 in the bank and less than $10 cash in her wallet until payday on Thursday. :24:

Well that was back in the days when we were working 7 days a week 12 hr. shifts. $700 weekends and taking home enough to live on for a month every week.

Pffft it does no such thing except make the payroll department annoyed :p If someone doesn't get their check from me in 2 weeks, it's going in the mail... then I don't give a shit what they do with it as long as I'm not responsible for it anymore.
