Joe and I are a pair. For instance. He is obsessed with not throwing away stuff that someone could take out of the trash and assume our identity or get into our bank account, etc. Credit card offers, bank statements etc, he burns or shreds.

But, the remote to the garage was missing. Joe wasn't worried. Now we don't live in a great neighborhood. Two bicycles have been stolen. Cars have been broken into. I have to have my convertible in the garage or my vertible top will be slashed (it was once) -a neighbor's was just recently. So, if someone got the remote to our garage they could clean us out! We have a lot of valuable there.

So have been frantic about where the remote could be. Looking everywhere for days. Finally, yesterday I found it. It was OUTSIDE!!!

Joe acknowledge if someone had found it it could have been bad. Yet, he hardly had worried. Me, I have been worried about it at some level since it went missing. Yet, I would throw away credit card statements in our garbage w/o thinking and Joe, he'd have a fit if he saw that.

Funny how we are wired, eh?:tooth

It's called complementing personalities. My wife and I wired very differently but it makes us a good team. She worries about identity theft. Me not so much. Our big difference is how we react to life's difficulties. I get frustrated by little things and inconsiderate people. She lets most of that roll off her back. When big things happen and she is losing it, I am the calm in the storm and the well grounded person. We think a lot a like and often finish each other's thoughts but we are wired very differently.

just to let you know if someone wants to get in they don't need a remote
you can only be so safe
you can have an alarm system steel doors and no windows and people could still get it quite easily
I live in a hood and I leave my door unlocked at night sometimes
I leave both my cars outside and unlocked (there is nothing in them to steal)
Its not likely that someone will get anything of value from mail or receipts from the trash.
I would take bank statements and credit card statements and ads and shred or burn them.
I have had cars broken into in the past and stereos stolen but nothing more
The last person that broke into my car I chased them down and had Police meet me and arrest them
I got paid lots of money over that incident
Never had a house broken into I think GOD is protect them from me
My first weapon of choice is a well sharpened machete I keep in my mattress. lol

Well we have a 22. It's unregistered but if they come to the bedroom I aim to shoot, I'll deal with the consequences of an unregistered gun later.

We've never had our garage broken into before-not saying it couldn't happen but it hasn't yet. We have security lights that go off. Joe did have some real expensive tires taken off his sports car once and the car put on cement blocks. That tooks some balls! We don't have that car any longer. Another reason I can't wait to get out of this neighborhood!

My SO and I are very different people, for instance I am very spontaneous but he likes to have every single detail planned out. I hate that and it drives me crazy but he says the same about me lol.

I like a clean kitchen when I cook. My wife likes to just go like a carzy woman the kitchen.

I can sympathise. I get everything out ready, then put everything away once it's been used, or put it next to the sink if it needs washing. My boyfriend just leaves everything on the side and cleans up later.

My husband is pretty neat but I'm petty sloppy EXCEPT when I go on a cleaning binge, then I'm like Mr. Clean I go thru the house and nothing stops me, I go on a cleaning binge for hours. Unforturnately for Joe, that doesn't happen too often :D

Another thing that bugs me is Why does Joe take the last pop can out of the case and leave the empty box in the refridgerator? Why doesn't he take that empty box out and put and fresh one in so a cold can will be available? This is a big pet peeve of mine. Cause guess what? I open the fridge, see a pop box and expect a cold pop in it and NADA, nothing in it......grrrrrrrr:mad

When he doesn't turn the hoover off before unplugging it. Then when I plug it in, it starts straight away. It annoys the hell out of me.

Oh, this isn't just Joe, but the Num Lock key. I don't use it, others do. I am back up computer person and when I go help others and use their keyboard and Num Lock is on it bugs me and vice versa if someone uses my keyboard and expect it on ;)

The only thing that I cannot stand is when my significant other (which I currently do not have a girlfriend) breaks a promise.

I clean as i cook too ..

So do I...I hate working around a mess. He dirties every dish in the house and the deal is the person that cooks doesn't have to clean. Drives me CRAZY. I wish I could leave all the dishes behind so he'd know what a total pain in the arse it is but I can't keep going with a mess sitting around the kitchen.
