Grammatical pet peeves.

I know we all have them.

My wife's is when someone says, "John, that does the drawings." Her comment is John is a who not a that. "John, who does the drawings."

I have two.

Ending a sentence with a preposition even though I do it occasionally.

The use of "Me" and "I".

"John and I went to the ballgame."

"Would you like to go to the ballgame with John and me."

The sentence would read correctly if you would use "Me" or "I" without the other person. Fairly simple really but so often done incorrectly.

Your and You're. Every single fucking time I see it used the wrong way I feel the need to correct the person.

Also. There, Their, and They're. Not a difficult thing to learn and remember, yet I still see it.

This one is silly, but I hate when someone says that someone tried to "goat" them. It's goad.

if its not my boss
I will say I know how its pronounce I just didn't f-ing pronounce it that way and who the F do you think you are
when they are screwing up their grammar just the same
I will help kids out with grammar but adults talk however you want just don't force it on me
my boss will correct my grammar and then talk about how important it is and like she is so smart
and her next sentence will have the work yall and aint

I made straight A's in English both High School and College
I can see how its important if you knew my boss she is an elderly lady who is snooty and a racist bigot

Agreed. If I mess up what I type in a call, I always go back and put "***CORRECTION***" and then the correct spelling or whatever right afterwards. The thought of being in court testifying and having the entire courtroom see misspellings and bad grammar is enough to give me a panic attack. Or, God forbid, when we have a BIG situation and the media actually puts up PDF files of the printout. I don't want to be the one whose name is all over it w/ bad grammar.

I hate when people misuse or overuse "literally".

Sean Hannity has misused it every time I've listened to him. I have to change the channel so I won't put my foot through the dashboard.

Another one is the phrase "the fact that" when they're arguing against the claim. If it's not true, it ain't a fact!

Example: "You keep harping on the fact that so-and-so lied about this-and-such, when he never said anything about the issue."
