Love the fact that you have the needle in his arm before you know anything. For all we know he's mentally retarded and won't even be able to stand trial.
But by all means, let's get that needle in his arm quickly to satisfy the blood lust of our civilized society
mentally retarded grad school student in medical school?
He was a PhD student in neuroscience...so I don't think it's possible for him to be mentally retarded.
Because gunning down 71 people in a crowded movie theater is quite a kind and endearing scenario??? :dunno I think it's pretty evident he's NOT mentally retarded...but even then, I wouldn't balk at execution for someone who gunned down 71 people. Just MY opinion...I'm not looking to influence anybody else's.
It was just an example...
Would a better example be that he was mentally unstable? You can be mentally unstable and still have a high IQ

Seriously? You would still execute someone who is mentally retarded? That's just sick.
Would you demand that a 5 year old kid be put to death if he did this? It's the same thing
For the record, though, most states say you can't legally form intent at the age of 5.
Tim said:neither can someone with the mental capacity of a 5 year old...
You are right, we will all be better served if he is put to death by lethal injection. Hell, why make it painless? We can just hang him in the town square or stone him like good Christians do. Better yet, if we draw and quarter him behind a few horses the sheer gore factor will keep others from doing it. Maybe we can make the whole thing pay-per-view so the tax payers can be paid back.
Coddled? Seriously? You think due process and humane treatment equals coddling?
Exactly. And do folks understand what happens to young white boys in prison? I think a prison sentence in the general population might just be worse than death row.
Interesting that you resent his actions but offer nothing to address the problem. This event is not the problem, it's a symptom of the bigger issue.
If and when he is ever sentenced he will get life in prison. Which means all his healthcare needs are met at taxpayer expense as well as all other needs. He will go through appeals for the rest of his life no matter the sentence. I full expect he will never get the death penalty. Unlike the people whose lives were effected, by this sick individual, who have to deal with his decisions.
So kill him then? Is that what you want?
I don't think I'll ever understand the idea of "oh, yeah, he legally went out and bought an inordinate amount of weapons and ammunition with the intent to kill innocent people and faced little to no restrictions; but he wanted to kill all those people so he would have found a way to do it regardless of firearm restrictions."
What are we saying here, that these deaths are unavoidable? Inevitable?
