I've already finished the exam. I'll have finished the mandatory hours of experience in September, and will be eligible for my license then.
What's the new career path you have in mind?

I've tossed around a bunch of ideas, but the one I keep coming back to is teaching. I used to tutor in college, and I've volunteered with several programs that involve teaching/mentoring students. I just find it incredibly rewarding and probably the only reasons I never pursued a career in it was the fact that my father has always been condescending towards his girlfriend because of her career (she is a 2nd grade teacher), and when I was younger all that seemed to matter was making a lot of money. As an accountant, I have the potential to make a lot of money, and it's got great job security... but the hours are incredibly long for a job that I'm beginning to feel has very little significance.
Teaching is good in the northeast. They get paid a living wage.
My cousin wanted to be a math teacher her whole life so she majored in it and got certified. After subbing for a bit she got a job teaching Algebra but hated it. The classroom management, parents, and long hours became too much for her and she quit after the first year. It's funny how a lot of people really don't realize the tough job that teachers have.
