I had someone tell me that I restored their faith in their fellow man when he was stuck at the airport and some kind soul fronted him some cash. he paid me back....made my day!

This choked me up a little bit. It is great to see others doing such nice things.
Today, on the way home, the boys and I noticed a lady standing in the rain waiting for the bus. As I sat there in traffic, I realized I had a nice huge umbrella in my trunk that I never use. We turned the signal on, moved over in traffic, and took her the umbrella. She smiled and thanked me, but all I wanted to see was a smile. It made our day.

Same thing kind of happened to me, but I have a trunk in my car I never use, so I threw her in there to get her out of the rain.

Made my day.

That's really good of you, and a great thing for your sons to see!

random acts of kindness may not save this crazy fucked up world from itself, but they sure go along way to saving the day

one act
one day at a time my friends

Surely the goal of saving the world is too lofty, but to give up on making a positive impact on anything is absurdity. I think we give up too often.

Any act of kindness is making a difference in the recipient's world...it doens't have to be THE world that you're changing. Baby steps...if people realize that there's still good out there and live accordingly, it just might catch on.

I agree, we do give up too often and it's sad. Simple things mean so much. I hope I can keep this in mind the next time I see that I can do some good, because I admit I am often too much in a hurry or feel awkward stepping forward, but I'm going to try.

I tend to stay in my own little world, and I admit I find people irritating often. Personally I'm burned out from my life but I think part of healing that is being a little more relaxed and willing to help.

if we think locally we inevitablly end up acting globally, the trick is for more local thinking, the more people are kind to their neighbours, the more that knocks on and before too too long the chain crosses over borders and the world becomes smaller
