Well, I already told you my thoughts on this earlier today. I'm really sad to see you go, Jeremy, but I understand your reasons. I know you can't read this, but I just wanted to say that I truly appreciate the phone call this morning. I wish you the best, my friend, and I will miss you. :(

He did it like a man, and at least won't come back asking a moderator to delete his "good by / farewell thread" and then come back a couple of months later and then let people know what he's been doing since he's been away and act like nothing has happened:24:

Unlike some other bloke I can think of;)

I don't know what happened and I've had my issues in the past as senior members know but if I leave again, I'm only letting a select few know.

not suggesting jer is an example but some people do take these forums way too personally, if you have rel;ationshiops outside of the forum , that is fine, but some feel like the members on these places are like family and feel the need to confess, confide and basically involve complete strangers in their private lives

I do not know any of Jeremy's circumstances but I have seen the internet destroy real life relationships over what is on the other side of the monitor. When our real life is not what we want the fantasy of someone who says what you want to hear can be very appealing.

Sometimes, a person just spends too much time online and things at home suffer. Like other addictions, cold turkey might be the only answed.
This is not to say that this is the cass with Jer. Just speculating.
I count him as a friend both online and in real life as I have had supper with him a couple timez.

Me too. I was on a forum a couple of years ago when 2 members got a bit carried away with each other....the started an "affair" online. Both married, both had issues, but one took it far more seriously than the other and the shit hit the fan when she realized she was being played.

And it was definitely a case of real life not being so appealing at the time so they started a fantasy life, but got too involved and they didn't know where the line between the 2 was anymore. It was the first time I saw how this type of environment can really affect someone.

I'm not saying any of this is what happened with Jeremy, just commenting on Fred's post.

Dont let the e-door hit you on the way out...
:D

Had a few beers with him and did not feel the need to strangle him, put him in a bag and feed him to the pigs so he was ok in my book!

hope all is well and good luck to him!
