we have a walmart in the town i live in, but its not the supercenter one. its still the regular small walmart that opens at 8am and closes at 10pm. has your basic needs. i dont mind shopping at it when needed or when i need something ASAP and i dont have time to drive the 30 minutes to Target. but almost always, i will make the drive! LoL

What some of you are missing is the fact that a store is only as clean as the customers make it! You can have a walmart in the ghetto and a walmart in the right side of the tracks but if the customers are messy as fuck, it will not matter... All stores have a cleaning crew, its a matter of how shitty, rude and dirty the customers are.

My personal preference lies with either of those stores, sweatshop conglomerates or not, I am going to the cleanest, nicest, most well kept place be it a target, or a wally world.

No Target here, Walmart and Kmart. I would prefer Kmart, except that they don't have the selection of a lot of goods that Walmart has. I wish Kmart would kick up the inventory a few notches. I don't like shopping Walmart for produce or meat as both are nasty. Those, I buy at a supermarket.

I like them both, but I LOVE Target.

However, the nearest Target is 2 hours away--so I don't get to go nearly as often as I'd like.

I think I'm spoiled, because the Walmarts around here are nice. They are clean and there aren't weird people wandering around them.

I try to never go to walmart. We have a Kmart here. I try to go there.

I prefer Target hands down. But, the nearest Target is about 25 miles away and gas ain't cheap so it is very rare that I make the trip down there.

We haven't been to Walmart in years. Got tired of enriching the Walton brats as they screw their employees. Sam Walton must be spinning in his grave.

Indeed. I bought stock in Walmart back in the 80's while Sam was still alive. All American stuff. Can't beat that. I made a profit when I sold it a few years later. It's sad that his children sold out what he worked so hard to achieve. Proving once again, Greed is King.

Target Supercenters are pretty nice. We do not have a Target supercenter. We have a Target and their prices are all over the map. Sometimes good and sometimes bad. Their clothes actually look more cheaply made than Walmart's. We use Walmart a lot because our grocery store options are limited. Winn Dixie is just high period although since Publix moved into town they are trying to be compareable to them price-wise. Publix we shop their BOGO's & certain Publix brand items which seem to me to be first quality.

I forgot we have a KMART. It is totally forgettable. Is not a SuperKmart so no fresh foods only canned. KMart was almost completely destroyed by a tornado and stayed closed over a year. They remodeled & reopened, unfortunately in the time they were closed it killed the rest of the shopping center. They should have leveled it and re-built. Our KMart is never cleaned and understaffed. The employees are not helpful if you ask them a question. I am surprised it is still open. It is cavernously large and actually echoes because of so few people in it ever.

Luckily, there's tons of options for food shopping around here, so you don't have to rely on WalMart. PriceChopper, Stop & Shop, and ShopRite are all pretty good. If you want to spend your entire paycheck at Hannaford, you can do that too!

They were once a stand-up all American retailer. Sam Walton started it from the back of his station wagon in Arkansas. Now, they are the outlet mall for the Republic of China. I think you can get the ebook free if you care to learn. His brat fucking kids have turned it into a sweatshop and an example of everything that is wrong in the American workforce. We gladly screw our own citizens -friends and family - for those low prices. We all share in the blame.

I remember the Walmart circulars that featured their employees and employee family members as models and how they used to promote Made in the USA proudly displaying the Made in the USA icon next to every product in their circular that was made in the U.S. The logo was 'We buy American whenever we can so you can too.'
