growing pumpkins for a second year!

last years:

i bought them already growing in a peat pot from the store..

planted them in a large pot. they didnt do so well :willy_nilly:

so i planted them in the only spot i had.... my front yard :tooth

they took off from there!

i also grew minis! those i started as seeds. they also grew in my front yard.... wait for it.... in a kiddy pool! :tooth

i got a decent harvest by the end. being my first time and all.
this is about half our haul. we had 2 more bigger pumpkins and about 15 more minis

so anyways since i just love talking about pumpkin yall can just smile and nod and ill keep myself entertained :D

she made me plant pumpkins as well. im trying little babies--but i haven't had the best luck with them as of yet. so we'll see.

what allotment holders get over here is mice borrowing in from below and living a life of safety and luxury,all that free food and no predators
makes sense... i assume that more field mouse territory? im in a decent sized city and ive seen a mouse here only once in my life and for all i know it was a baby rat :D we got a lot of opossum though!

my mate grew a huge pumpkin for a competition,and i mean huge....it was judged on weight,he came no-where because it was all but hollow:tooth

how cool! you ever think about growing? our atlantic giants are the big competition pumpkins. i dont know if they are the same breed name outside of the states...

the ones im growing this year are classic carving pumpkins called Howden and mini pumpkins called Jack-be-little

how cool! you ever think about growing? our atlantic giants are the big competition pumpkins. i dont know if they are the same breed name outside of the states...

the ones im growing this year are classic carving pumpkins called Howden and mini pumpkins called Jack-be-little

to be honest i'd love to grow veg again but i dont really have time for an allotment or a big enough garden,i grew a 4lb onion once though

dang! lol did it taste good?

i dont dedicate a lot of time to my pumpkins but they do needs lots of space. they get huge!
