James Peterson had a dream: to pump his fist repeatedly in the air for almost an entire day. With the results chronicled on film so that he could claim a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records, Peterson
completed his quest on Saturday morning, having gone 16 hours straight. He did it around about the University of Akron campus, beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday at Manny’s Pub on Brown Street, and ending the madness at 3 a.m. on Saturday at that same location. There were many stops in between — what is being called a Jersey Shore-type pub run.
Peterson is an unemployed electrician.
Akron Beacon Journal:
“I have set the qualifications for this record and every minute that I do this is a new record,” Peterson said Friday afternoon on the UA campus. “My fist is super-glued together to ensure I maintain perfect fist formation.”
He describes himself as a seasoned veteran of fist pumping.
“I used to hang light fixtures, so I am used to having my hands above my head,” he said.
Yes, you read that correctly. He Super-Glued his hand into a fist. Peterson is 34, and this will look swell on a resume. He’ll be swatting away job offers like Tim Duncan.
