Euro 2012

Going to penalties again. If it's any consolation Italy are worse at penalties than England, I think. Two good penalty savers will be interesting. Italy will be kicking themselves if they don't win this after dominating the game. It'll either be England's first shoot out win in 16 years or another shoot out elimination.

Penalty shoot out...

Italy up first with Ballotelli....

1-0 Italy. Cool as fuck.

Gerrard up first for England.

Yes! 1-1.

Two great penalties.

Montelivio misses!

Huge chance for England.

Rooney......scores fantastically.

2-1 England, Pirlo up next.

That was incredibly cool. 2-2 but England still have the advantage.

Darn, Young misses. Advantage gone.

Nocherino up next.

2-2.

Ashley Cole, really crucial penalty.

Poor penalty. Italy are on the brink.

The most crucial penalty of Hart's career.

Diamanti puts Italy through.

Deserved throughout the whole game. England go out on penalties again.

But a good place for England considering everything that's happened.

Very true. If Young plays right (which is where he's played all season) he plays better. I'm glad he had the foresight to not play Milner tonight, who should never play international football again after this tournament. Flat, basic 4-4-2 is dead. Why managers persist with it is beyond me.

But man, Pirlo. He smoked at least 3 cigars tonight. And that penalty, I was expecting Mario to do that.

England had absolutely no business even being in a position to win that match in a shootout. They were dominated for about 75-80% of the game, but somehow found a way to stay in the game. Hart played incredibly well, and so did THE defense, but the Italians made them look silly with their ball control and their ability to force mistakes. Still, not a bad result at all for England in the grand scheme of things... y'all are a very average team with potential to be good, so to made it to the quarters is a very good result.

You're too generous.
There is no potential in that England team. :)

Can't get angry about it, these things go in cycles, we had a great team in the last decade.
