Lots of the Mexican restaurants around here are going to have meal specials and be giving away free shirts and things!

I LOVE Mexican food but I have an extremely sore throat that is limiting the things I am able to eat at the moment. :(

Not my favorite day given where I work. Throngs of drunk assholes demanding to be treated like VIP guests even though they've never set foot in the restaurant before.

Why do Americans so enjoying co-opting foreign holidays they know nothing about as an excuse to get drunk and make public fools of themselves?

Tang, American's don't need a Foreign holiday as excuse to get drunk, but if it's handy they will use it ;)

I'm not doing anything for it this year. I'd have loved to go to the Cinco de Mayo celebration Wells Fargo puts on here, but I wasn't in a crowd mood lol.

Total lazy one. I hurt today so I've just been relaxing. Did some yoga stretching to help a bit, but otherwise just kinda blah.
How about yourself?

Best of luck with that. Did my time in hospitality, the 'three times a year' visitors were always more trouble than they were worth. We used to invite all of our best customers to priority reserve, and didn't take bookings from strangers until all of the regulars had chosen their bookings. We didn't cram in extra tables or work longer hours either.

New Years' Eve was always our biggest night, we'd be giving out invites from October, the food was free, and it was strictly 'invitation only'. The bar takings more than covered a regular nights' work, and we didn't have the hassles associated with the event-only patrons. There was a personalised card for each group thanking them for their support through the year, with a 20% discount on all meals through January and February. The extra trade generated kept us ticking over nicely through the quiet season.
