Ever Just Not Show Up For Work?

Have you ever hated a job where you elected just to not show up to work?

I did this once. My boss at this job was a guy that got quite angry at me and my co-workers over nothing quite often. So I recieved my paycheck at the end of the week and didn't show up the following Monday.

Normally, I wouldn't do that. But I didn't feel bad for this boss.

Once, well....left during a delivery and never went back. Well what happened was the job was fucking boring, going across Manchester on a bike delivering small office supplies to various companies and going back and doing it again. Got paid per delivery so after about 3 I had £50, so I just left a box of staplers and random stuff in an alleyway and fucked off, kept the bike though, it was top of the range.

I was always the conscientious employee even when I hated my job. I only left one without offering a notice.

I worked at a Supermarket for two years in high school. Just before starting college, I quit, gave my two weeks notice and everything, they were adamant about that. I wrote it in this book that they had and everything.

After I start college one of my former co-workers tells me that the boss ranted and raved that I never gave her two-weeks notice. Dumb retail.

I did that with my last job. Normally, I don't like the idea of doing that because it "burns bridges" but I was so pissed that I just did it.

As you move up the corporate ladder you find businesses prefer you not work a two week notice. Offering the two week notice is still the norm. I did not work out a notice the last few job changes I had. They would rather you not be in contact with their customers if you are leaving.

Yes, I didn't show back up at the Fairgrounds for my 2nd week of work. When I left my job as a Deputy Clerk after college, I left my letter of resignation on the Clerk's desk. Little did I know she would come in LATE on Monday and they wouldn't find my resignation until an hour or two after I was supposed to be at work.

I'm not saying that I expect bosses to be perfect, as they're only human.

It's normal for a superviser to be a little annoyed with you once in a while. But if they act irritated with you more than that-or if they're flat out being rude to you, then you shouldn't have to put up with it.

I quit a job that way once. I realized the father and son running the business were batshit crazy and didnt care a bit for the safety of their employees so I just didnt go back on Monday of my 2nd week.

No but I have not answered the phone when being called into work. I had a supervisor who had family members working with me, she liked to let her family have the evenings off if they called in for whatever reason. I got fed up with it after so long and didn't go in on my days off, if I was called. Wanna give your family days off when they should be working, suck it up buttercup.

When I was told i had to work second shift I told them no I don't. Loaded my toolbox up and left right then. Coworkers said the boss could not believe I would leave such a good paying job. Still get my retirement check every month and laugh at how it came about.
