You're equating serious addictions to something that is not nearly as hard to do. Simple portion control is a breeze to accomplish.
so then lets tack on a kid with a disease that requires that they eat 6000 calories a day. yes SIX THOUSAND and you dont exactly have all the money in the world to have 2 separate shopping lists and when you do have the frame of mind to diet youre sitting in a house with weak will power and a pantry full of chips and cookies and pizza and burgers not to mention now with a newborn crying you dont exactly have the time or energy to cook 2 completely different dinners. one with no fat and the other with 30g of fat..But it *is* easy. Sugar addiction is a very real thing - spend a little time reading up on it. And you yourself have stated how dangerous it is to your health to be overweight, so why is an addiction to food "not serious"?

Nah I know about sugar addiction and it isn't anywhere near as serious to alcohol and drug addictions.

I think it's very easy to say 'well I lost this much by just doing this and this'. That's great for that specific person, but everyone is different - weight gained from pregnancy isn't going to be as easy to shift as weight gained from too many cupcakes, partly because there are more changes than just the weight gain going on with your body during that nine months.
I lose weight very easily. It's the same for all the women in my family. So technically I could come in here and say 'well hey, just skip a few meals guys and the pounds will melt away! It's not difficult!' because that absolutely works for me. That doesn't mean it's going to be any good for anyone else though, because other factors like metabolism and lifestyle and genetics will be having an effect as well, and it's a bit naive to assume any diet or exercise plan will affect everyone with the same degree of success.

i WISH that CF made people fat. those 6k calories my kid needs keeps her at about 10lbs UNDERWEIGHT. if she wernt receiving that many daily she would waste away and die. literally. and its exactly why i flip the fuck out when people start trying to pass laws to ban fast food and fats and junk food.. just because your fat ass doesnt need it doesnt mean others dont.I've already agreed that there are people that have *actual* diseases that make them fat. There is a REASON why obesity rates have increased dramatically over the past 50 years and that is because people willingly eat shit and choose not to be active
only a small minority of cases are actually due to medical reasons
I was overweight last year by 12 lbs and it was because I was eating shit and not exercising enough. It was my fault and nothing else.
Seriously guys. All it takes to lose weight is NOT EATING SHIT and putting in like 30-40 minute cardio workouts a day. Getting fat does not happen magically or by accident.
