Well, I am a dog lover. I absolutely love dogs. They are so much more loyal then human beings in my oppinion. I get pretty used to seeing and hearing about people dying. Its fairly regular. When a dog dies though, i am so much more sympathetic because i sort of view them all as innocent. I was reading some stuff today, and all theese stories sort of made me want to cry. Dogs are such selfless creatures. They are symbols of loyalty and unconditional love. Check theese out.

Rags - A dog adopted by a soldier during WWI in france. He found it in a pile of rags, and trained it. It warned the soldiers of artillary attacks with its acute sense of hearing and even became the mascot of the 1st Division.

Smoky- a yorkie that a soldier found in a new ginue foxhole and adopted it. She saved soldiers lives by using her acute sense of hearing to warn soldiers of oncoming bomb shells and became the first therapy dog in Military hospitals.

Bobbie - An enlish shephard mix that was lost on a family trip and within six months traveled through the mountains and harsh weather 2,800 miles home. By the time the dog reached home srawny with worn feet, having walked the entire way home alone.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobbie,_the_Wonder_Dog

Fido- An italian Dog that followed his owner to the bus station that took his owner to work everyday. Waited on his owner to return every day and then walked home with him. One day his owner died and for 14 years continued to wait at the same bus station for his owner until death. There is a monument to him.

Hawkeye - A Lab whose owner was a navy seal and killed in a chinook attack. Hawkeye stayed by his owners coffin for months.

Shep- A dog who saw his owners casket put on a train, and lived by station and checked every incoming train for 6 years waiting for his master. He was eventually run over by a train.

I swear, reading some of theese stories make me tear up. I love dogs so much. In Afghanistan we adopted many stray dogs that were friendly but we had to hide them from the higher ups or they would get killed. Eventually, the Seargent Major found Marley and she then died... Another sad story was this dog we had, we named her the XO (XO means executive officer) we tried to drop her off outside the cop when we were told to get rid of her but she kept coming back and... yeah.. we executed many dogs, and it was always so sad. .. But yeah if your a dog lover you would love those stories!

I love lots of animals. I love dogs and cats. I click on this site every day and they provide food for the shelter. You don't have to buy other stuff, just click every day.

If I've broken a rule by posting this you can swat my nose and kennel me ;)
I gave it a click, hopefully if i remember i will do it more often. I am not really a fan of cats but i dont hate them or anything. I cant wait to get a dog, but they dont let you keep pets in barracks.

Makes sense they don't let you keep animals in the barracks, plus you don't know when you will be deployed! I have two dogs and 3 cats. I put that site on my favorites so I click it daily at work and try and remember when home.

If you need to you can always use a proxy to click it multiple times a day with a different I.P. But yeah i understand. I need to get married or something so i can get a house. I think I am going to get a German SHephard they seem the most loyal and protective of all breeds. I used to have a wolf/australian shephard and she was amazing but i dont think they allow wolf breeds in many places.

I love dogs
I like humans
I suffer the latters passing
The former, generally speaking lead contented fulfilled lives, devoid of hatred, envy, fear or malice

When a dog dies i dont cry, i say goodbye

When humans go, far too often they leave much behind undone, that is cause for sorrow

I'm down to 5 which are mine. A couple have since passed.

We do rescue work to find unwanted dogs good caring families. Generally, a dog will be with us for at least 6 months until they "are ready" for a good home. The adoption process is lengthy, but a good dog deserves a good home IMO.

I couldn't do that Joe, I would end up with 40 dogs in no time LMAO

Our adoption process is pretty in depth (questionnaire and home study included). Every dog that goes to a home has a loving, caring family and we have no doubt the animal is in good care. Honestly, we almost always cry when we drop a dog off at a home, particularly when a dog has been with us for some time, but you tell yourself that if one finds a good home, that gives you room to take one more in.

At one time we had 15 dogs in our care (which was kind of chaotic), but that was included 9 puppies that were left in a garbage bag to die along side the road.

Nice thing with us is if the dog doesn't work out in the adoptive families home, we take the dog back, no questions asked, no matter how long the dog has been there.

I have a co-worker that does that too. It's funny, I don't like her personality, she's very abraisive I mean a lot of people at work dislike her, she says whatever she thinks without THINKING, Oh Hart, you finally dyed your hair, those dark roots were looking ugly, she says out loud in front of everyone LMAO. But her love of animals gives us a common ground. And actually over the years she's mellowed. Hell she even sends me funny e-mails a lot too, now. She's in her late 50s and never been married......kind of telling that ;)

I don't consider myself a crazy person. I will mention that since getting involved in finding animals homes, you would be AMAZED at some of the people who want animals.

I do joke with my wife that I don't want her to become the "crazy cat lady" as we have cats as well LOL

I've had people accuse me of stealing money, had people that wanted to trade me a cat for a dog...the list can go on and on.

I've come to the conclusion that dogs are very much like children. Some people shouldn't have them.

I can also assure you that if people had to go through the process of adopting a child instead of "just having one by mistake", there would be less unwanted children in todays society.

May sound crazy, but I've learned a lot from dogs.

i love dogs, too, but i hate when they jump on the damn furniture!!

They have "scat mats" that are electronically charged that will keep the dogs off furniture LOL

I felt bad about some of our own dogs because they were allowed on furniture, but bringing dogs in to find homes for, we realize some people don't want animals on their furniture. So...no dogs, even our own, on furniture.

Always remember, positive reinforcement works better than negative reinforcement.
