I just got home to find a note on my neighbour's doorstep, addressed to the postman. It basically tells the postman to feel free to open his front door to leave any packages for him in the hall as he works nights and sleeps heavily. I have a parcel for him that the postman asked me to take yesterday but I have never met him before. I couldn't pick him out in a line up. So I declined to open his front door and instead put a note through his door to tell him I had the parcel. No way would I feel comfortable opening some randoms front door to leave a parcel.

I have a night booked away that is non refundable. My plans changed so I asked her to come with. She isn't really mentioning it and her husband has been a little off when I mention it to him (he says you and Lindsay need a night in soon and I say oh well we have that night away and all enthusiasm goes) She asked for the holidays from work but has now said she needs them approved and another company who she gets loaned out to needs to approve her holidays. I just get the feeling she is gonna cancel on me.

That sucks, Laurie. I hate when friends back out. I love my friends dearly, but the vast majority of them cannot be counted on to keep plans like that.

It appears she is coming. She got notice that the contract fell through on the job she was being hired out to. So at least I can still go. Taking a large bottle of vino in my bag for sure.
