I understand where she was coming from and I do appreciate her concern for doing a good job .... BUT ... I KNOW which tooth it is and I DID inform her which one it was the moment I first talked to her when I came in a few days ago. So, now that I have blown $233.00 on the exam ... $200.00 on the debridement ... I still have a tooth that is causing me pain. Obviously I am going to have to go somewhere else as this Dentist is forgetting an important aspect to health care ... actually listening to the patient. If I had a great paying career going along with amazing dental insurance, this would be a great place to go to. I already found another dentist that says they will just pull the damn tooth.

Oh well ... live and learn ...

I feel your pain... I go tommarrow for my root canal. I am thinking I should bring a weapon.:tooth

I will say that I thought I knew which tooth was bothering me a while back and when I went in my dentist actually found that it was the one NEXT to it that was causing the trouble instead. So maybe your dentist is on to something.

Yeah, I know that pain can cause illusions in the mouth where the real culprit can be hidden but I am very certain which tooth it is as I have done some poking and prodding myself and found that this tooth will cause a shock of pain when messed with while the other two do not. Like I said though, I do not hold ill feelings towards her for being so careful and concerned but I do think she should learn to listen to her patients a little more carefully.

Either way ... I am going to have to have all three pulled at some point as they all need root canals and crowns :(

Ugh ... I hate root canals. They are nice once they are over and you have a nice new crowned tooth that will never cause issues again.

I've only ever been to the dentist once in my whole life when I was probably around 8.

I've never SEEN a cavity in my mouth, but my gums are pretty bad and my teeth are really sensitive. I started using sensodyne recently only because I can't afford to go, and state provided insurance doesn't cover dental or vision for someone over the age of 21. Hopefully later this year I'll be able to get full insurance and can finally see a dentist. I need at least one tooth pulled and probably braces. My mouth is too small for my teeth.

3 hours to root canal this molar.. It was tooth #18 in a hard spot to get to. Now its 4 hours later, and it's starting to hurt. I don't know whether I should pick a fight, or cry like a little girl.

On the upside, the endodontist was amazingly hot! I think I would have done anything she said. ;)
