The way they speak to the field techs is offensive. "oh there's so much room for growth and bonuses..." bullshit. the top three techs get quarterly check bonuses...that means increased competetition within the company amongst techs and less pay out from corporate. there's alot more but for now i need to pretend like i'm paying attention to them...

ok, now that the coast is clear...

my company was basically forced into going employee based (before they 98% used sub-contractors) because the communications company mandated that of their contractors. so essentially they did this with as little benefit for their employees as possible, just enough to keep their contract.

they offer no payed maternal leave. if you don't have any pay saved, you're just fucked.

you get minimum wage for vacation and holiday pay. this is designed because they need a workforce no matter what's going on (who wants to use vacation time if you get paid minum wage?) most working class people cannot afford that.

vacation time does not roll over into the next year.

they make it appear as though we get paid hourly, when we donnot. we get paid production and then break the amount of hours we're in the field with our production scale. it's good for them because they donnot have to pay overtime...

essentially the techs assume all liabilities as before except we get paid less and have shitty company benefits.

i used to think unions were a bad idea, but with my job i think we should have one for all the shit we put up with. it's not just that i hate my job and am spoiled...it's actually really unfair there.

either that or go back to straight sub-contracting where i get the pay that is worth assessing all liabilities. but i don't really have that option anymore. i thought about going to ATT but a friend of mine got fired from there for not wearing his hard hat inside an attic...lol, wth. ...and they're a union.

You are working the conservo-libertarian dream. That's what the right wing wants - fuck the worker for maximum profit. You need to suck it up and get an additional job and work 18 hours a day. That's their answer. Oh- and Vote Republican. They know what is best for you. ;)

That's pretty much the way it is.
If you dont like it then find a better paying job.
Good Luck with that.

i dont mind their conservative shit except it's unethical business practice. more work and responsibilities with no duty or desire to increase pay. that is not even political, it's just common, decent behavior in society that shouldn't even have a place in politics.

and i love the ending of fight club... haha love how they were able to show real anarchy at work.

the ceo of our company said to us this exact thing: there's only so many cents in a dollar...

very true, but why is that my problem? especially when i donnot see another dime or more importantly...HAVENT BEEN GIVEN A REASON TO. "It's being a good employee"...where's being a "decent employer" gone.

like i said these assholes think they can stupid talk us because we only see them quarterly.

well i have news for them. i will ALWAYS do 70% becuz they donnot care about me and im only willing to give just enough to keep my job.

Without knowing what the whole story, its hard to tell why or how much they are really doing..

I guess they could have done what many American companies have done up here and closed the doors..

Now without all the information on what they face as competition, costs, labor increases and other factors its kind of hard to say a business "Corporation" is always shafting it's employees tough as some do and some don't..

The fact you still have income rolling in and can search for work while collecting something is a privileged many are not given in today's economy..

Take the opportunity to look elsewhere if you believe they are shafting you and leave..

Bitching about it resolve nothing and will eventually get you fired and in a worse position with a new born to feed..

they're not going to close their doors.

there's very little competition in this contracting field and i donnot think all corporations are bad.

i am grateful for my job and never implied i wasn't...i show that by going to work everyday and doing what i'm supposed to do.

i am looking for another field...

ive been there over 2 years and haven't changed my attitude since ive been there because im good at my job and i know how things work there. and i know how to take care of my kid, he's lucky i'm his dad, there's alot of scum bag pukes out there!
