There's no doubt that she's talented, but I also know that I've personally played with two guitarists that are every bit as good or better. Justin, one of my best friends, is probably the best guitarist that I've ever had the pleasure of playing with... and I'd put his ability above hers from what I've heard and seen of her. I've gotta agree with AA on this one... the main thing that sets her apart is the fact that she's a woman... but that's not to take anything away from her obvious talent either.

I listened to her live for over 2 hours...believe me...she IS that good. I cant speak for your mate Justin though...do you have anything of his we can listen to and compare?

You seriously choose to be offended by some of the most bizarre things.
I wasn't discounting her talent, I even said that twice I believe... I said the thing that sets her apart is the fact that she's a woman. Sorry, but I also have to rank a number of living guitarists that are more talented...

My point is that she's good, and ranks up there in talent, but as she's the only woman considered to be in the upper echelon of guitarists in the world, that's what sets her apart.
As far as Justin goes... I just went searching through all of my backups for some of our old recordings, but I couldn't find any of them. Next time I talk to him, I'll see if he has them still.

I've heard her live, and a LOT of other "top" guitarists, including Page live, so am in the position to be able to compare....(although not to your mate Justin I will admit)
In another few years she will easily be as good as those on your list, if not better. Although, Im surprised at the absence of Hendrix...you reckon she plays better than him?
(Although having heard both her AND the Edge LIVE...she shits all over him)
If I was including dead guitarists, there would've been a lot more people on that list. Those were just the ones off the top of my head.

We will just have to agree to disagree. I was SUPER skeptical when I heard she was Alices' lead guitarist (can you believe that):24:...but as I said...it takes a LOT to impress me....and I was.

I am not saying she is only heard of because she is a woman. In many respects though being a female guitarist is a set back because so few are known in the rock genre.
Some think Zappa was a guitar genius. I don't because he did a lot of stuff that is fancy but not that difficult when you break it down.
