I've been to London. I quite enjoyed it, but then I was alone in a big city with lots of exploring to do. And it was lovely and sunny. The tube is fab but I'll be dammed if I could use it to get to work, I'd wanna have a shower when I got to work, it's so hot and sweaty :yuk

Perhaps you haven't been in the parts of London I've been in :p

Comedian Ron White thinks Fairbanks, Alaska is the most boring place on the planet.

I have a funny feeling Fairbanks it's not a true party town.

I know it is terrible wet and windy in England, but honestly. I am proud to be English. I do love Australia tho, even though I never been there.

You can love a place you never been too lol. You see it on TV, the news etc etc. Just basically know about it and what it looks like in places

Yeah, and I'm sure through watching the telly you can feel the stiffling heat, the disease carrying flies and the annoying stupid jokes about pommies? No offense, I've been there, it's a lovely country but you really have no idea about it unless you've been there. ;)

Well I guess everyone will have a difference in opinion about things, especially places. I couldn't live there because of the nasties about and the heat would kill me, I would like to visit. I am aware of the creepys there, as I have 2 uncles that live there. And one of them was bitten by a black widow.

But because it is such a beautiful place, that don't stop me wanting to experience it for myself :)

Experience it, you'll probably enjoy it. You'll probably find things about it you thought were great which you hate and things you didn't think you'd enjoy about it which you do. Just dont big something up that you haven't experienced, it's rather ignorant. I'd love to visit Iceland for example, I've heard great stuff about it but it would be silly me telling people how wonderful it is before I even have a clue about it. ;)
I dunno, maybe I'm being a bit sensitive because I've been to Australia and to be honest, I found the racism shocking and even though I can take a joke about being a pommie, when you get the same silly ones, day after day, hour after hour, it gets irritating and makes you appreciate England because it's home.

I will always appreciate England...ad would never want to move abroad. But I can honestly say. I do like the look of Australia, and it has always been my number 1 place I want to visit. I have only been abroad twice in my whole life.

Thats better! And it is a great place to visit. Sorry if I misread it before but it sounded like you were bigging it up without even going there. Iceland is the country that has always appealed to me and the place I'd most like to visit. I'd like to go in the hot springs, see the northern lights, enjoy the big Saturday street party in Reykjavik. It sounds awesome but I wouldn't describe it as the best place on earth because I've never been there. Of course none of us are going to visit everywhere but I'd only describe the best place on earth in the content that I've visited. Jesus! Why am I going on like this? I'm being pretty anal really! Sorry! I guess its because I've been to Australia and seen what its like, I get fed up of Brits unreallistically thinking its the holy grail, when it's not, and slagging off our wonderful country. I guess its a case of "the grass is always greener on the other side" and even literally, in Australia, its definately not, more of a burnt yellow brown colour.;)

Sort of like how people talk about Florida like it's the garden of Eden. North Carolina too.

Well, Like I said. Everyone always have difference of opinions. It's a fact of life!

But no, I was in no way bigging it up. How can I if I have never been there. I was pointing out, that it is somewhere I would really like to visit, as it does look a great place.
And again it will be matter of opinion if and when I do visit, that if I like it, then that is that lol.

Not everyone who lives/lived in England likes it here either. But lucky for me, I do!
