FA Cup 3rd/4th/5th/6th/Semis/Final (2012)

Team news.

Liverpool.

Starting XI: Reina,- Kelly, Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Jose Enrique - Maxi, Gerrard, Henderson, Downing - Carroll

A back 5 and Stevie starfish. A team set to contain and counter if ever there was one. I'm surprised Bellamy isn't playing.

De Gea

Rafael
Smalling
Evans
Evra

Valencia
Giggs
Scholes
Carrick
Park

Welbeck

Give or take a couple of players (the most obvious being Jones out/Scholes in) that's the system we played there in October.

In other news, the FA cancelled the handshakes before the QPR-Chelsea game. Good call but a sad state of affairs.

Interesting lineup from Liverpool, Kelly isn't really a wingback, but he's a far more competentant defender than Johnson. And Charlie Adam is simply ignored. Maybe Carragher or Agger will line up as a midfield anchor. The back three system hasn't worked for Liverpool this season really.

Sir Alex looks to be trying to win the match in midfield.

I'll take that at half time, been the slightly better side, dominated possession. It's just we've struggled at times to get past the 7/8 Liverpool have back when they are defending. Take away the mistake from Dave, we've been very good.

I'd give it a little while, keep playing how we have and then bring on Hernandez. I'm not sure who for (perhaps Welbeck actually because the 3 man midfield is working well). Liverpool seem perfectly happy to let us have the ball in the middle and attack on the break.

Just seen the penalty Chelsea got, talk about soft. It wasn't a dive though, no sir, English players don't dive.

Two silly errors cost us today. Liverpool played better in the second half but really, that's the last time De Gea plays for us, I defended him in the Summer, but now those errors can't be allowed to happen. A replay wouldn't have been the worst thing as well. #Andersfornumber1

Yep, I though Halsey had an excellent game. Let it flow, only booked players when it was necessary. Recognised it was a big game. Having had time to reflect.....you know what, I'm not upset or angry we're out. I'm disappointed yes, because it was Liverpool, but our performance today wasn't too bad. First half I felt we were very good, second they came into it more but we managed to hold our own. It was just two errors from De Gea. We probably would have got a replay had it not been for them. Rafael played really well, Valencia was always a threat, the 3 man midfield was a great idea (which is why I thought it was wrong to bring off Scholes), we didn't do a lot wrong. But we can't dwell on it, bring back players for Tuesday and hammer the living shit out of Stoke, and get back to the League. And drop De Gea.

It was a good match, though I thought we should of played a bit better

Who cares :D
Knocked out man city and man u in a matter of days :24:
