...Iron Maiden finally did another US tour? This was for a Media/Marketing class. Teacher said I couldn't use their logo or Eddie, their spokes-monster. So I had to reinvent the wheel, but I think I pulled it off.

...Calvin Klein did a line of dog perfume? Pic of my littlest one rolling in something stinky.

...Dodge just finally accepted that their logo looks like a giant uterus and went with it?

Steve Harris lives up the road from me. He has a 6 foot Eddie head by his front door which illuminates at night when someone drives up his drive.

Yeah, I know, and the input is appreciated. I thought about putting a staff in that R but decided against.

That logo reinvention was a challenge, being forbidden to use the original that's been in use for over thirty years and was designed by Steve Harris himself. Had to come up with something I thought had a chance in hell of being accepted by him and his fan base being used to seeing the original. Very hard to do.

Saw an interview with Harris that said he came up with the band name from seeing The Man in the Iron Mask. That gave me a starting point. Paid homage to the original logo but used forms of wrought metal and torture devices, then discovered some of the letter forms were taking on a runic look. Thought that actually worked well considering some of the content of the band's songs. That's why the R, D and A look like they do.

But here's the big question, despite having to reinvent the logo (and I guess the IR possibly looking like an R) and not being able to use Eddie, did I still manage to come up with something Iron Maiden and its fanbase would accept?

LOL! Which version? I would think he'd have a version like Lurch who greeted guests with, "You rang?"

Not sure, unsurprisingly the gates to his drive are locked so I've never managed to have a look, just heard it from tradesmen I know who have had to work at his house. I do see him around though sometimes up the town or in the local live music venue
