*shrugs* I like the colors on the second one far better, actually. I agree it looks off-kilter, but I still like it.

I agree with Tash on this one  I like the colors too...

@ Tuffy: from your experience given you said that was taken when you were a beginner....what's the technique you've learned to avoid a pic being off-kilter? There's more room to adjust shots when it comes to landscape/nature. However, I've noticed buildings/structures- like dams and bridges etc- if there's no room to move around to get a good angle- it ends up being off kilter. Pls share.

Tbh, I sold the lens this year because it didn't give me enough angle on what I wanted to do and I hardly used it after the main interest came, the Dublin was taken in 2008 and I didn't take my tripod with me either...

I've seen those tilting lenses ( i thought only baby lens had them and saw from canon too) do they help with angling given they come in many sizes/mm too?

So what's a technique to avoid being off-kilter without a tilting lens?

Tripod is best way of avoiding off-kilter shots, plus a few test shots....

The reason i asked is coz of this pic which i struggled with. Angling-wise i had no room to move around while taking the shot. If with tripod, the more there's not gonna be enough room....I've straightened it a bit through Iphoto edit however- if you look on the left side, the building looks slanted plus with the editing, it took out part of the the torch from statue of liberty :( ( Pardon my going off- topic)

Lenses tend to have a problem with them called barrel distortion, so I wouldn't worry about that tbh, then you have to make extra head room for such problem i.e. give it a wider angle
