People who exaggerate....

Gah! We have a cleaner at my work who is mostly a nice lady, in her 40's/50's and fairly harmless. But she is the WORST for going over the top with everything!

Take this morning. We had our first bit of snow and my bus was running late, so I got into the office at 9:15 - I'm always first in anyway, no one else was about. The cleaner was meant to be there too but I thought she might have been having trouble getting in because of the weather (she lives in a village with little roads) so I didn't think anything of it.

I know what time I got in btw, because I have to turn off the alarm and it says the time on it. So I know it was only quarter past

I call her once it's gone 10 because she's not turned up, and what does she say? That she was there until 25 past and no one came! I said 'but I got in at 9:15' and she says 'no you didn't, I was sitting there till 25 past and the shutters were down!'

Obviously her clock is wrong. But now, I know she'll repeat the story of how she had to leave because no one was there to as many people as she can, and she definitely won't adjust it to include the fact that her clock is fast

She has to make a drama out of everything.

if it took 1 minute to do something and he is impatient he would always say it was 30 minutes and etc..
my response was always wtf are you talking about

when people over dramatize things i find it humorous to over act their actions back at them in a mocking way
it makes them laugh and I always get the response "I didnt do it like that"

Yep. I learned pretty fast that when you BS, people pick up on it pretty fast and will call you out on it. Some people seem oblivious to their exaggerations or just never learn. But hey, you can make yourself believe anything if you say it enough.

I have a friend who is renowned for exaggerating and downright lying. Needless to say we are all wise to it now and dont believe much of what she says.
