First time in my life!

Pushing a half century and I finally won a drawing a had long ago forgot.

Got the call tonight.

Never really play anything to win, but I put in for the drawing at my mower shop because it was for a good cause and I kind of liked the prizes they were giving away, even though I didn't think I had a shot at one because it involved "luck of the draw" which I've NEVER been lucky at.

Ironically enough, it's a not too bad of a caliber, IMO and I don't own one because I never wanted to spend the money on one.

It's a .270 and I'll find out more when I'm at the gun shop tomorrow morning (where they informed me I had to pick it up).

Ironically enough, I was at the same gun shop this past Friday LOL.

.270 is a good round. Limited bullet sizes but the 140 grain bullet is excellent. 150 grain bullet will take most any non-aggressive game in the US. I like the 130 grain in mine because it shoots them at MOA.

Congrats, Joe! .270's are good firearms to have around. Good range so you can stop intruders, 2, or 4-legged kinds from a pretty safe distance. Lotta guys use 'em for deer out here on the plains. Some guys have taken elk and moose with 'em, but, you gotta hit 'em right.
I have an old bold action that my grandpa bought used back in the 1940's. Still works real slick!

Unfortunatley, I was about 10. My mum gave me £10 for picking the numbers and I was ecstatic, I'd never held so much money in my life.

Remington 700 BDL. Nice gun. For free (well, a $20 raffle ticket), it can't be beat LOL

I really do like it. Seems kind of on the light side, will be curious about the recoil as the only time I can remember shooting a .270 was when I was around 10, and then, needless to say, it kicked like a mule LOL

The gun shop owner was actually happy that I won because it's the first time he actually knew someone that won one of those raffles. I've been a customer of his since I moved to NC close to a decade ago.

I had forgot, but it was for one of the local fire departments in a town where we have an office. He (shop) owner told me what they made on those raffles, and I am indeed lucky. Too bad I don't play the lottery LOL
