like as in "It was like the best part of the day and like I was having so much fun and like it makes people who talk this way sound so harebrained."

I use like alot but more at the end of sentences, as in : "And I didn't even want to go shopping like"

irregardless

I hate this one, too, because it's not really a word. Also: antidisestablishmentarianism is incredibly redundant. :p

There's not a nice thing to call a mentally challenged, retarded, spastic, mongoloid, etc because they're words that have naturally negative connotations. And they're targets don't have the capacity to reclaim the word. Like homosexuals did with queer.

I'll just stick with whatever the general consensus among experts say.

I tend to go with "mentally handicapped". My middle brother has autism, and my oldest brother suffered a TBI, so the term is sensitive to me, but I've found using the term mentally handicapped to seem the least offensive.

I try really hard not to describe something as retarded, and I do slip from time to time, but I always make an extra effort when my brother's around. My dad described him as being in special education one time when talking to someone, and he was steaming about it for awhile afterwards. I'm not really sure why, it's an accurate statement, and it's not because he's an idiot or anything. *shrug*

I can't think of any other words I particularly don't like right now.

Like I so like completely agree! I like so hated like sitting through like college presentations and like having to like hear the word "like" like every two words. It's like so annoying. It is like also like annoying when people like actually like write like inbetween every like word on like facebook. Like?

Though I must put my hands up and admit to sometimes using the word like excessively when I get flustered whilst trying to explain something complicated infront of people and just going "Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr". Not helped by people in Psychology/Language/Literature being rude and whispering that I was a know it all etc everytime the teacher would ask me to explain an answer that a lot of people got wrong.

Not really a "word" per se, but I hate when people kill the word "ummmm" and "uhhh" when talking. I had to sit through a week of Crisis Intervention Training w/ a teacher who umms and uhhhhs her way through EVERYTHING.

It's not a word, but I can't fucking stand "smh"... and it's slowly taking over around here and on Facebook.

*quietly*
I'm not a fan of it either, I didn't know what it meant and when I found out I was like...huh?...I think that sentiment needs a smiley so people don't have to say "smh"...it's an appropriate sentiment lol
