Yeah, right now you can't buy after midnight on Saturday night. Sucks to be at the bar on a Saturday night and to have to buy all the drinks you want for the next 2 hours just before midnight. LOL

Gosh I can remember my Dad buying beer/wine at the corner store when I was a kid in Quebec.

Here in BC I can remember them allowing it right after I moved or at least soon after.. That would have been in the early to mid 1980's at the pubs.

Liquor stores are a bit of a different story and I thing the hard stuff didn't get the green light until the early or mid 1990's.

the whole entity of Massachusetts was under this blue law for quite a while (The pilgrims even wrote it into the state constitution) and even the blue laws regarding stores being open on Sunday was passed just over twenty five years ago. (my first year in the working world they passed the Sunday overtime law, where if you worked on Sunday and you had more than three employees you had to pay them one and a half their usual hourly rate and they practically had to beg us to work and the overtime was was the carrot!

Haha! Glad I don't live in a country still under backwards, religious law (I assume this is why you can't buy booze on a Sunday). Since the laws were relaxed a few years ago, in line with the rest of Europe, I can buy alcohol at any time of the day or night.

Yep, that's exactly why. But, then again, I do live in the Bible Belt. There's actually a very small city in our county where you can buy alcohol in a restaurant or bar on Sunday (they have 2 restaurants and 1 bar) but that's was as lax as it got around here. The new ordinance will allow bars to remain open on Sundays as well as liquor stores. I'm not going to know how to act not having to go out on Saturday night to pick up booze for Sunday, LOL

Too bad I don't drink like I used to, though, so I could REALLY put it to use, LOL
