Christmas Music in October?

When's the earliest you've heard Christmas music? I was up in Family Dollar and they had Christmas music playing out of a small boombox. I exclaimed "Christmas music? it's not even Halloween yet" and another woman shared my sentiments.

i listen to certain Christmas music at any point in the year not only because i think it sounds good,..but a lot of Christmas music makes you feel good and bring a smile to your face..or just make you feel all warm and fuzzy (trust me,..she feels great:ninja)...a few i listen to when no one else is around because they make me misty ..but im weird

so i cant really say when the earliest is ..because i listen to it any/all year long

i could listen to this over and over again...something about it..its joyous, powerful (especially when bing belts out "fall on your knees, and hear the angel voices ")..with just a touch of sadness to it

thats another thing,..i miss the old Christmas specials...like the bing crosby christmas specials, they seemed actually sincere in the season instead of just neo-teeny-bopper-commercialised-bullshit

I was in my bank two weeks ago and saw a "Deck the...some sort of bank pun" and like "Jingle Money" signs and I wanted to punch someone out. The reason winter feels like it lasts for 7 months out of the year is because assholes like that MAKE it last 7 months by making christmas start in October. By January, we are all so tired of winter we're homicidal.

Can't get people shopping without the music, though.

Our Costco has been playing "some" Christmas music and has had the decorations out since the last the first week of September.. It's been like that for the last 3 to 4 years now and is mixed in with the back to school stuff..

Most people were pretty upset the first year but now just don't care..

They walk right pas the Christmas stuff and don't even bother looking.. Honestly I have no idea why they even bother using up space for that stuff till now..
