I have used both and prefer natural gas.

That's what I have now and it works well. I don't like the heat lag on electric, and the time it takes to warm up.

Propane isn't used in this country, most people have mains gas.

I preferred cooking with gas and if I could choose that's what I'd choose. But I must admit I don't cook much either way, bit I did prefer gas. I feel there is more control, precision with gas versus electric.

Werd. Although I don't mind for the oven bit - I think an electric oven is actually better, but for sure a gas hob is where the control is at.

yeah! we have electric, and it takes 25-30 minutes just for the oven to heat up to 350! i was raised with a gas stove and id give anything to have one back! Cooking with gas is SO MUCH EASIER to control! BUT, where we live, its all electric, and you have to pay out the ass to have the gas company come run a main to the house. a couple of our neighbors did it after Ike while they had that part of the house torn out and easier to run the main.

You could upgrade your stove to an electronic ignition that does not have a standing pilot.

What type of water heaters and furnace do you have? Most of our propane is consumed by the furnace. The water heaters and cook top use very little propane.
I'll have to check to see about the ignition thing. I like my stove.

As for the water heater and furnace.... both gas (propane). Haven't used the furnace going on three years now though. Love my woodburner. :D

You can do the same thing with electric. All you have to do is take the pot/pan off of the burner. :p

To answer the RedRyderLady... electric, baybee. :thumbup
Hey, Baybee! :)

You and a very select few understand my sick sense of humor. Thanks for hanging in there with me. a200.gif
I get you....

..... not in the manner of which I seek..... but I do get you. ;)
