Erm, I always thought that it was the producers of the products that took so much off their share of the RRP, hence it didn't hit the grocery/supermarket

I agree. In some cases it's really rather sickening to watch, but I think some of these people are mentally ill to some degree.

I spent four years mailing manufacturer coupons out, so I have an awareness of that.
The thread specifies the extreme side of the couponing system, which I really do believe will go through changes eventually, if for no other reason than the fact there are a lot of clashes with store policy and couponer expectations. I don't think these people are bad, I think they're usually a bit off or potentially mentally ill...hoarding things they'll never use, obsessing over the free acquisition of toothpaste? It's mostly sad.
agree with you 100%!! and on every single episode they say "im not a hoarder" um YES YOU ARE!!

i remember when the hubby first heard about the show, he was like "you need to take some lessons" then he actually sat down and watched the show and said "dont you EVER think about doing anything like that!" LOL dont worry babe!!

If they gave a shit, they'd stop giving coupons out. They're not exactly a recent invention.

Some people take it too far. What percentage of people is that really though? How many people really have enough to sit around sifting through coupons and sorting them all and working out what you can buy?

apparently enough people to make a whole show about it!

im a SAHM to a kid who's at school 8 hours a day. i have no where near the hours they spend to dedicate to doing what they do! and most have more than one kid and have babies! in all honesty, i think they ignore their family and family dynamics for this.

In my opinion, those extreme couponers earn their stuff. They spend hours and hours cutting out coupons and getting their lists ready. I would take advantage of getting shit for free if it just didn't take so dang long. I know a lot of grocery stores around here have changed their coupon policies to combat extreme couponers.

As far as the people hoarding things...yeah. That is weird and gross. But I have seen an episode or two where the ladies actually gave things away to food pantries and animal shelters. It was nice to see them using their powers for good.

I have a friend that does this and not only does, but custom shops for people too. She has made a small business out of it. She never buys her own groceries now because the fee she charges for her super shopping covers all out of pocket expenses for her own food...

Getting a cash refund is against the coupon rules. Customers who try to pull that shit piss me off. On the coupon itself it reads that it will be adjusted to the price accordingly. Couponers have no right and when they throw a bitch fit in line guess what? You're in a private establishment and we reserve the right to refuse service to ANYONE. Retail isn't a game, there's no extremeness to it, pay your money and get the fuck out of my sight you piece of shit YOU're the reason my hours get cut.

Not directed at anyone unless you do do this shit, then fuck you

I give EXCELLENT guest service. Over the top where I get praised by customers to my managers on a daily basis, but if you're going to abuse my place of work and harass my co-workers who are like my second family, quite literally I spend more time with them than my real family, then they don't deserve to be serviced.

Exactly what I was thinking. And you gentlemen just be reminded that since this is NOT in the Philosophy and Debate section, you don't get the same liberties to act like a douchebag that you do in the P&D section.

A lot of our local stores have started putting limits on coupons. If saving money on my groceries was more important than spending time w/ my friends and family, I might would be on board...but I don't have the time or energy to clip coupons for days on end. Not to mention I am deadset against buying anything that I wouldn't normally buy simply b/c I have a coupon on it.

Ah hum... we are not in the debate sections Natasha... Calling people douchebags will get you infracted quicker than a cat can go from indifferent to totally loving to indifferent again.

Isn't acting like something and calling someone something two different things..

This is what I don't like about certain lax rules.. Interpretation is really left to the person looking at the post..

Just saying... :D

As a former admin, you should carefully note that I specifically said "act like a douchebag" which, according to the rules, is NOT name-calling. :24: :24: :24:
