Not in Canada.. We have our health care that covers medical only. At one time they talked about Dental but we changed governments and it never happened..

And I recently found out dental is extremely expensive in Canada even compared to the US..

Federal public servants get 90% dental reimbursed

I'm actually kind of proud that my boy doesn't want to spend HIS hard earned money on anything but that he'd rather spend mine (but I don't let him and then he decides he doesn't need what he's looking at after all).

Cool..

I actually am teaching mine to save up money.. He was setting his mind to things and saved his allowances for up to 4 months at a time to get Nintendo DS games.

Lately it's been easier as his attention changed to Lego Hero Factory Action Figures are his new targets are $10.00 each it takes his two weeks to 3 weeks of allowance and chores.. I think I need to raise up the anty again.. :cool

Yes I know.. I worked for CRA for quite a bit before going back to my original industry and now being my own sub-contractor..

Before I left in the mid 1990 I had a shit load of work done.

But when you 're a sub-contractor. no one pays the bill but you.. That's when you really find out the cost of Dental and when you have business partners in the US you find out their costs are a lot lower in "most" cases..

My buddy is a dental hygenist, and working in Ottawa where there are a lot of feds he knows to the penny what their plans pay. And guess how they structure their pficing, right up to plan limit. For example he will clean teeth for as little as $50 if you have no plan but if you sre a fed the bill is much higher

Yah my old Dentist did that as long as I was working with CRA. He was right around the building from them and knew all the ins and outs of the plan.

I would even get a call in December with a preset date for all my "required" dental work i had no idea I needed just in case..

When the plan ran out the cost was $25.00 for a filling.. I heard his receptionist tell someone else ( not on a plan ) it was $150.00 for the same work..

You have a feeling he was making it up somewhere when he only charged me $25.00.. :willy_nilly:

Wow what an odd thread. For Dana this should be expected though. I think you have a drinking problem. Save your money from not drinking for awhile and fix it yourself. Joe is right. In a rude way of putting it though. Does your mother know you got blackout drunk and chipped it ? She should not have to pay out her pocket because her son can't control or function on his own without destorying his body.

I only sugar coat things when dealing with customers who fund my paycheck:D

On the plus side, you know exactly where I stand:p

Yes, I would love to be everyones friend, but sometimes I see forums as nothing but "enablers" because everyone wants to be so nice as to not to step on any toes.

I realize I stand a slim chance in hell if I ever want to run for a political office LOL

Well, I had hopes... My cousin and her kids go to a community dentist in the area and they take my insurance BUT I called them and they aren't accepting any patients over 21 at this time so I'm SOL and it looks like I just may have to live with it. Tis life I guess.

that does suck! i had the same problem with our son's dentist. with hubby's new company, it meant new dental insurance. son's dentist doesnt accept it, so we were on the look for a new one that does. the one i do trust from the list, doesnt see kids under age 8!
