I haven't been to Six Flags in years, but the last time I *did* go it was still there.

And it's Thunder River. ;)

Thunder River? Didn't exist back in the 70's & 80's you youngster. ;) It was just the plain old "Log Flume" to go along with the Dahlonega Mine Train theme. Shows my age huh? :p

LMFAO...whoops!!! That's okay...we don't throw away our old folks around here. Not yet, at least. ;) I googled it last night and there's several mentions of a "gum tree" by the Mindbender. Honestly, I think there's several trees throughout the park at different rides.

This, John?

Not the same one P, but that's how the original started. The original SFOG gum tree was an old hardwood tree that they built the wooden plankway to the Jog Flume around. I remember it as a little kid in single digits age, and it was still there when I was a teenager and I recall the last time I went I think I was 23. It was on the left side. It's a fun memory. The SF staff would scrape all the gum off each year, but within a week of the next season it was covered again.
