Ever Complained & Got Free Stuff?

I've complained about a night I spent in a hotel and they gave me a weekend free stay for 2, and I complained to a few food places and been given free meals or vouchers. Reason I post is that I just got a call back from my local domino's about a complaint I made last week and they offered me a few free pizza's for my troubles.

Ever complained to a company or place and been rewarded with free stuff?

It's always worth complaining, remember the customer is always right! I always complain if I'm not 100% happy with the service, although I only really buy from fast food chains! Do all my shopping online now so cant complain as much

yeah i complained that i was missing some stuff from my room
they gave me two extra day stay and tried to replace my stuff
I wouldnt take the replacement but did take the 2 xtra day stay

that kind of stuff happens alot

Depends on what it is.

I complained at Tim's once they sent me a $20 gift card.

I complained at the garage where I got my car inspected because 2 weeks later my muffler rusted out... so they installed a new one for free.. cuz if I went to PEI road safety they would have lost their license to inspect cars.

I have said wow that took a long time at Starbucks and they have given me certificates for free coffees. This one has happened about 10times.. The staff know me.. if I complain about time then it's been like 10 min or more...

I have not complained at restaurants till afterwards.. and only about lousy service... It horrid service.. just not bad...

I went to an oil change place and had my fuel injection work done (naive, I didn't know oil change monkeys don't know about cars, lesson learned) and they ripped hoses off that cost me nearly $500 to fix at another shop.

Should have complained, but never did. My dad said he was going to, because it's unlikely they'd do much for me as a woman, but he never did.

I complain whenever my pizza is more than 20 minutes late.... and usually get something free out of it. One time I complained to the corporate office because the manager told me that he didn't give a shit (his words) if my pizza was late, that it was my own problem, and I was just going to have to deal with it. Turns out that was the last straw for him and he got fired because of it... and while I didn't end up with that order free, the owner called me and then mailed a voucher for three free orders (of whatever I wanted). The only place I've complained to and not really gotten anything was fucking DirecTV, because they just don't give a shit.

I'll bitch to friends and family about stuff, but I never formally complain.

My wife and myself never complain about food. I just would not order the same thing next time. I can't stand people that complain for the sake of getting something free. It annoys me.

i have never complained. Working in a bar / restaurant i dont mind people who complain. It's HOW you complain!!!! if you say excuse me my meal is cold. Id say im very sorry would you like me to warm if or would you like a fresh one? and we go from there. I will then decide if it is worth taking it off your bill.
but if you say THIS meal is FREEZING this is not acceptable!!!I am not happy! feel these potatos! FEEEEL THEEEEM!! (yes people do ask me to stick my fingers in their food. i normally politely decline)- I dont take kindly to aggressive tones. It's unlikely ill give these people any more than an appology.

That's so true.

I waitressed in a bar for a couple of months and I give kudos to any server in the industry, I couldn't possibly do it for a living, it takes a lot of personal restraint to deal with people like your second example.

Why can't people realize that you catch more flies with honey? Sure, get your point across that the food isn't what you wanted, but dear dying fuck, realize it wasn't done on purpose, and that it's not the end of the world, and if you approach the matter in the right way, like you said, you're more likely to get a bit extra out of it.

I tried being a waiter for 1 day
I ended up throwing a tray of 3 pizzas onto a table of a group of 20 people and telling the guy to F off
I walked out of work and my manager called and begged me to come back
It was one of three jobs I had at the same time so I said screw it
They guy made a comment about me being a school drop out and I heard him
I was still in high school it was a job I did after school
I had the highest ACT and ASVAB score at the school in my senior year
and I wasnt even trying
