Anybody remember the traffic stop where that state trooper shot and killed the family dog that charged him??? He got reamed a new one and he was totally in the right in that situation.

I remember that VERY well. That officer was a piece of shit. The family was awarded 10 grand for their loss. Yes, the family only told them numerous times that there was a dog in the car and asked the LEO's to shut the car door. WTF did you expect the dog to do other than to run to it's owner when it hopped out of the car? (not that wagging it's tail means anything).

Three things you don't fuck with are a man's wife, his money, and his dog. You should ask some of the LEO's who I shoot with what would happen if they were to shoot one of my dogs.

And a responsible dog owner wouldn't let their dog out of a car during a traffic stop on a busy roadway. I love my dog and I would absolutely defend her against anybody...but I'm also a responsible dog owner and she doesn't as much as go in the front yard w/o me standing out there w/ her or being on a leash.

Watch the video. The owners asked the LEO's to CLOSE the door because they told them (the LEO's) they had a dog in the car.

My dogs never leave my property, but they are never on lead because they don't have to be, although they are NEVER left unsupervised.

My cousins hubby is a cop. He drives like a maniac when he is off duty in his own vehicle. Every time he gets stopped he shows them his police ID and is let go. That in my opinion is an abuse of power by him and the cops who always let him slide.
My second cousins twice removed ex-wifes sister had a husband for a cop. I wish I had a story to share like you did but I don't. :D

I agree. I also like *sarcasm* when the cops think just because they're in a cruiser it gives them permission to disobey the laws. Driving erratic, speeding, flashing their lights just to get through traffic or not obeying simple road laws like pedestrian crossings and such.

Actually, in Georgia it does. Any public safety personnel on duty in an emergency vehicle may disregard traffic laws as long as they do so w/ due regard.

Would it be considered an abuse of power if I let women "thank" me for letting them off with a warning when I pulled them over? :D

No...it would be considered rape.

okay, i'll clarify, because rape is an ugly word.

if a woman offered sexual favors in order to get out of a legitimate ticket would it be an abuse of power to accept? if i was a cop i'm not the type of person that would say "have sex with me or you're getting this ticket" because that's downright wrong.

i'm sure its happened plenty of times where a woman has tried to seduce a cop to get out of a ticket. with many cop cars having cameras in them anymore i think itd be impossible to get away with accepting said favors.

i have been a passenger numerous times when a female driver has gotten pulled over and batted her eyes, smiled a lot, and just about openly flirted with the cop and every time they have gotten off with a warning :mad was in the car while a female friend got a verbal warning for going 75 in a 55 because she was acting flirty with the cop. just a week before a friend got a ticket on the same road for going 65.

I guess that would depend on whether you let her off first, and she then asked how she could "thank" you.

If it were the other way around, then that would be bribery I guess.....or another abuse of power.

I have known of quite a few off duty cops who flash their badge to get out of being breathalysed.....:mad:thumbdown

Accepting sexual favors from someone that you are in a position of power over is no less wrong than the other scenario.

That happened here, in Cookeville TN. The family all had to get out and lie face down on the ground, one of the kids didnt close their door. The family, while lying face down with guns drawn on them, beg the officers to close the door and tell them about the dog. The officers stand their like wooden statues when all they had to do was shut the fucking door. I know the trooper who pulled them over, and he is a good guy but the Cookeville city cop who also responded is the one who shot the dog...the dog that was bounding around playfully, happy to be out of the car....until the idiot shot him. I still see no way to justify shooting that dog. The dog wasnt charging him, or at least I dont see it that way.
